FREELAND's dynamic communications team, which is responsible for striking public awareness campaigns across Asia in collaboration with JWT advertising, CNN and National Geographic, is seeking a Thai national Communications Officer to help us ignite our campaigns and build our profile and partnerships.
Vacancy Title: Communications Officer
Location: Bangkok, Thailand (Sukhumvit area)
Reports to: Communications Director

Key Responsibilities:1. Write and distribute Thai-language press releases; facilitate local news coverage
2. Translate and layout the Thai version of the FREELANDer e-Magazine
3. Update and maintain media, donor and partner contact lists
4. Design and produce promotional materials such as press kits, info packs, brochures, banners and out-of-home media; organize artwork files
5. Liaise with advertising, print production and media buying firms
6. Represent FREELAND at public events and activities, such as exhibitions and workshops
7. Prepare presentations to highlight FREELAND's work and key issues
8. Monitor media coverage across online, print and television
9. Support and report to the Communications Director
Required Qualifications, Attributes & Experience:• Fluent Thai and English speaker and writer
• Degree in Communications Arts / Advertising or related field
• Work experience in an office environment
• Flexibility and a professional attitude
• Ability to liaise with government, press and private sector partners
• Passion for wildlife conservation and human rights
• Video editing and/or graphic design skills (familiarity with Adobe Illustrator software) desired
• Able to start work during October 2011
Upon the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period, the successful candidate will be confirmed on a 1-year contract. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. FREELAND offers a comprehensive benefits package.
