Database Manager – The Role

An essential member of the team, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all the data and processes covering our fundraising and campaign team (Salesforce) databases. You will use your expert knowledge of data processing to advise and support the fundraising, campaigning and finance teams in their work.

This will involve guaranteeing the quality of the data held on our core systems by ensuring it is up to date, accurate and compliant with PDPA. You will also reconcile data at month end, make sure documentation is maintained and up-to-date as well as coordinate staff training needs.

You will build an in depth understanding of how all fundraising and campaigning data is processed internally and externally and transferred to/from external agencies too.  You will also use this insight to support system development projects and improve ways of working. Your remit will include managing the workload of the data operations team to deliver critical tasks on time and progress projects in a timely manner.

In addition, you will oversee the work of our fulfilment agency to ensure they are processing donations, supplying data and thanking supporters in compliance with contractual obligations.

 

Database Manager – Duties

  • To ensure that the CRM platform (systems and processes) operate accurately and efficiently at all times.
  • To act as the Data Controller under the terms of PDPA
  • To ensure the integrity of data being input to the CRM platform
  • To ensure that donations are processed in an accurate and timely manner and that supporter’s donation history is accurately recorded.
  • To be the key focal point to the relationship between the CRM function and external stakeholders including payment gateways, banks, and software suppliers.
  • To provide managements reports to internal stakeholders, including but not limited to fundraising, finance and senior management.
  • Keep abreast of and adhere to codes of practice and regulatory changes ensuring that data processing is carried out in accordance with the law, Local World Animal Protection policies and to best practice standards that protects the reputation of World Animal Protection.
  • To contribute to new systems processes and procedures that ensure compliance with data processing laws, regulations and best practice.
