Accountant (based in Bangkok)
Plan is an international humanitarian, child centred development organisation, implementing development programs that promote the realisation and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.
Reporting to: Finance Director
Assignment Type: Permanent
Location: Based in Bangkok
Job background: The Accountant will play an important role in finance, budget and accounting management of Regional’s books of accounts. Effective management in this areas shows that Plan’s operation is transparent and accountable.
Job purpose: Perform general month end closing processes and Plan’s Year end closing processes including P & L adjustments such as running depreciation, cost allocation to projects, grants etc. and also the Balance Sheet adjustments such as Prepaid expenses expense accrual or clearing etc. • Ensuring sending intercompany transactions to other Country offices by monthly cut off dates • Ensure timely bookkeeping of incoming intercompany transactions and with accuracy • Review monthly bank reconciliation prepared by Finance Officer • Review payments vouchers and adjustment entries • Prepare monthly Subsidiary Ledger Report • Prepare Quarterly Accounting Packs and Year end pack • Prepare statutory reporting to Ministry of Labour • Perform cost allocation of Support staff costs and Office running costs to minimize Apportioned Cost ratio • Act as contact point for both internal and external auditors • Design configuration of Accounting and analysis codes for effective reporting purposes • Coordinate Annual Budgeting with all concerned and update with forecasts • Prepare monthly Management report to the Management • Monitor budget utilization by fund codes • Conduct orientation of finance department to new staff • Make sure Control mechanism is happening in the department • Redesign/update workflows and initiate innovation to bring efficiencies • Tasks assigned by Financial Director • SAP Champion in maintaining list of SAP users and authorization job roles • Creating Vendor/ Customer set up • Creating Fixed Asset number
Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Thailand • Bachelor Degree in Accounting • At least 3 years in the role of similar accounting responsibilities • Experience in NGO fund accounting is preferred • SAP experience (or equivalent ERP) is advantage • Strong accounting skills • Advance Excel and Data analysis skill • Strong team work skill • Good communicate clearly and effectively • Consistent and rational • Good in English communication skill.
