The Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW) is a progressive think-tank, and cutting-edge Alliance committed to work for changes in the political, economic, social and legal systems and structures which contribute to the persistence of trafficking in persons and other human rights violations in the context of migratory movements for diverse purposes, including security of labour and livelihood.

The International Secretariat of GAATW (GAATW-IS) is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and coordinates the activities of the Alliance, collects and disseminates information and advocates on behalf of the Alliance at regional and international level. 


The Finance and Administration Unit is responsible for effective financial management in accordance with GAATW-IS policies and procedures. The Unit ensures transparency and accountability of GAATW-IS’ funds, towards GAATW, donors and other stakeholders. The Unit is furthermore responsible for the smooth running of the secretariat: for maintaining good working conditions and atmosphere; for staff management in accordance with policies and office procedures; and for carrying out general staff development activities and team building exercises.

About the position:


The Junior Accountant provides financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts. This position is mainly responsible for maintaining internal accounting procedures and submission of financial reports.

Key Tasks:

  • Maintains timely book keeping of incoming transactions into the accounting software system
  • Provides financial status information by preparing quarterly reports and management reports
  • Reconciles general bank accounts by gathering and balancing information
  • Maintains accounting controls by following organisational policies and procedures, in compliance with the legal requirements
  • Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts, prepares fixed asset depreciation and accruals
  • Designs configuration of accounting and analysis codes for effective reporting purposes
  • Coordinates annual budgeting, forecast preparation and cash flow projections with staff
  • Maintains the fixed asset register and conducts the fixed asset monthly spot check with the Finance Officer

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of three years experience in overall functions of finance and accounting
  • Knowledge of non-governmental organisation financial reporting requirements to donors
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Excel skills and any accounting software
  • Thailand national

  • Ability to work well in a cross-cultural environment



Salary is commensurate with experience and skills.

Candidates from Thailand will be given preference because of the Secretariat office location, however, persons with appropriate qualifications from the ASEAN region are encouraged to apply.
