ADRA has been working with vulnerable and marginalized communities in Thailand since 1984. ADRA works with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action.

 

ADRA Thailand is currently seeking applicants to work at our office in Mae Sot District, Tak Province for the project entitled Basic Education Support toward Transition (BEST) Phase IV. This project is being implemented in 9 refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar border.

 

  1. 1. Project Cashier and Admin Assistant

Responsibilities:

 

  • Withdrawing funds from the bank according to requests;
  • Depositing remaining funds;
  • Conduct monthly bank and account receivable reconciliations;
  • Review all receipts, follow up with suppliers and ensure that all expenses and details on receipts are in line with ADRA Thailand Finance and Procurement policies and donor policies;
  • Ensure that all supporting documents and receipts are attached to payment vouchers;
  • Record all expenses accurately into the petty cash register;
  • Maintain the daily petty cash count;
  • Purchase office supplies and maintain office equipment;
  • Prepare material list to obtain camp pass;
  • Maintain log books for project vehicle, office fax and phone;
  • Manage project vehicle keys;
  • Purchase travel tickets (flight/bus) and hotel booking as required for the project;
  • Prepare and arrange venues for meetings;
  • Work with project manager on delivery of and financial procedures for monthly stipends to teachers and education personnel;
  • Assist the Project Manager to request funds from Chiang Mai;
  • Assist with analyzing monthly actual spending compared to the approved budget;
  • Assist with procurement review bid comparison;
  • Prepare office asset register;
  • Collect timesheets and send to Chiang Mai Office;
  • Some travel to the camps will be necessary;
  • Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor

 

Preferred candidates are expected to meet the following:

 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in accounting or related field

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance positions as described above

 

Language Skills:

  • Native Thai
  • Intermediate English verbal and written language skills
  • Excellent Thai verbal and written language skills
  • Good typing skills in both English and Thai
  • Karen and/or Burmese language skills is an advantage

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications
  • Able to take initiative and prioritize work
  • Able to work in diverse cultural settings
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • High level of flexibility and self-motivated
  • Driving skills and a valid driver license are required
