We are currently looking for a person to be based in
Mae Sot, Tak Province, THAILAND to work as a:
Chef de Cuisine - Kitchen Teacher

The Hospitality & Catering Training Centre (HCTC) is a joined venture between: IECD (European Institute of Cooperation And Development) and TBCAF (Tak Border Children Assistance Foundation).
HCTC is a non-profit organization dedicated to Tak border children and their employment through training at the first level of qualification in hospitality professions.

Reports to the Director of the Training Centre, the candidate will interact with the 60 students, 3 teachers, customers of the vocational restaurant, cost controller and food & beverage suppliers.

MAIN DUTIES & ACTIVITIES:
PRACTICAL TRAINING:
In the kitchen, the instructor’s main activities are to convey relevant kitchen skills to the students for employment in hospitality industry, including restaurant business.

OPERATION:
As kitchen instructor, and a professional chef, the responsibilities are to deliver the skills to students and insured the quality of food prepared for customers are at highest level of customer satisfaction. As well as collaborate with the restaurant manager for the cost controlling. The instructor will maintain the kitchen and the equipment in perfect cleaning and maintenance condition. The instructor will also, in collaboration with the team, conceptualizing and realizing of products and services to be offered to guests of the vocational hotel-restaurant.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
The instructor will responsible for developing teaching plan. Also, to organize, deliver, and evaluate practical training of the students. Any relevant plans to foster the kitchen training and education will be discuss with the director. Elaboration of teaching plans, students’ evaluation and attendance should be reported in weekly, monthly and semester reports.

Instructor will have the satisfaction and be proud of helping others and giving chances to unprivileged youths to grow and find a job. Mae Sot is at the border of Myanmar and close-by to the area are mountains, National Park, Waterfalls and many outdoor activities. The area has lots of expatriates, as some refugee camps are located in the province.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
> Culinary Vocational Degree
> Must possess 4 to 5-star restaurant experiences as a cook
> Must possess at least 1 year of management experience in both Thai / Western
> Must possess good communication skills in English and Thai

> Must be able to follow directions, and display a strong desire to learn and improve
> Must be punctual, reliable and capable to adapt to the local environment

COMPENSATION:
Attractive salary according to experience. Meals while on duty.
Coaching and training on a punctual & regular basis by experts and experienced professionals (national & internationals)
