Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.




Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, Labour Migration and Human Development unit in Bangkok, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on Remediation of Labour Rights violations of

Migrant Workers in Thailand.




The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:


  • Development of the SOP (internal), a set of comprehensive guidelines for businesses, drawing from best practices from private sector studies and cases where effective remediation was implemented. The guidelines will be developed through a series of consultation with selected businesses in Thailand and the Federation of Thai Industries.


  • Participate in a consultative workshop with key government ministries, the Federation of Thai Industries and selected businesses in Thailand to validate the SOP.


  • Participate in a multi-stakeholder consultation between key stakeholders, including relevant ministries, businesses, CSOs, worker unions, employer unions, and international organizations to present and further validate the SOP.


  • Produce a consolidated SOP (consolidated both internal and external guidelines), incorporating feedback from the validation workshops.


  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

  • University Degree in migration studies, international relations, sociology or relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience, working on labour migration, international labour recruitment, corporate sustainability and compliance programmes, or related areas.
  • Working experience or knowledge in migration issues, national law on migration, and corporate sustainability is a strong asset.
  • Experience liaising with the private sector, civil society organizations, governmental and diplomatic authorities and international organizations.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, proven experience in sociological field research is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi‐cultural environment and respect diversity.
  • Team work oriented but with a capacity to work independently.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Computer literate.




  • Fluency in English is required.
