Title: Human Resources Assistant (4 Months)

Location: Bangkok

Background/IRC Summary:  

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces. IRC Thailand in coordination with IRC Myanmar to conduct Protcetion assessment. Partly of the assessment is to collect data from refugee in Thailand to garter information to understand what protection concerned refugee have to inform IRC’s intervention to address needs of refugees.

Job Overview/Summary:  

The HR Assistant will effectively support Human Resources team in Bangkok on day to day task on recruitment in term of job post, schedule interview and check process, staff benefit document for health insurance and provident fund and etc., staff visa and work permit and camp pass documents.  She/he will work collaborate and support HR field office. 


Recruitment support           

  • Handle all Job advertisement and inform relevant person on the job advertisement
  • Schedule interview, facilitate test and contact candidate
  • Assist in conducting check process on candidate and follow up the completion of documents
  • Assist recruiter to prepare necessary documents for recruitment process
  • Maintain and update all related recruitment files

Benefit administration

  • Prepare, follow up TISCO Provident Fund application, update information and send it to TISCO Provident Fund Management Company
  • Responsible for IRC national staff health, life and accident insurances in adhering to the company policy. Contact and deal with the insurance company for staff enroll, staff exit from the insurance policy.
  • Prepare add/delete staff name list for Insurance Company to update in Life/Health/Dental Group insurance
  • Assist HR Manager to prepare other necessary documents related to Compensation and Benefit

Visas & Work Permits

  • Assist HR team to prepare visa and work permit applications and escort expatriates to the Thai Immigration Office for visa extensions and Ministry of Labor for work permit renewal during annual renewal period
  • Assist HR team to prepare visa and work permit application requests to Ministry of Interior (MOI) during annual renewal period.
  • Assist HR team to prepare necessary documents for Ministry of Labor related to visa and work permit.

Camp Pass

  • Prepare monthly camp pass applications for staff who plan to work and visit refugee camps along Thai-Myanmar border.
  • Assist HR team to prepare annual camp pass application and related documents

Other responsibilities  

  • Represent IRC positively and professionally in both internal and external relations and situations
  • Keep HR information private and confidential at all times.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned by HR Manager and HR Coordinator/Lead.

Report to: Human Resources Manager

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field

Work Experience:

  • 1 year’s work experience in Human Resources or Administrative work
  • Experience in a non-profit organization and international environment is preferable

Demonstrated skills:

  • Excellent Organized skills, deadline oriented, good team player
  • Attentive to details
  • Positive attitude and excellent service mind

Languages and Computer skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken English
  • Computer proficient and demonstrate skills in record keeping

Duration: 4 Months
