Conservation Manager

Bring the Elephant Home

Position: Full-time, local salary of Thai NGO standard
Contact: One-year freelance contract, with a probation period of two months

Introduction Bring the Elephant Home

The Asian elephant, a keystone species, is threatened with extinction as deforestation has destroyed much of its habitat, food supply and migration routes. Over the last three generations, a population decline of at least 50% has been estimated with a current population of less than 40,000 wild elephants. Bring the Elephant Home restores natural habitat, finds solutions to mitigate human-elephant conflicts and stimulates elephant friendly eco-tourism.

Bring the Elephant Home is aiming for a better chance of survival for elephants. We achieve this by restoring natural habitat, by stimulating animal friendly eco-tourism, by developing alternatives for people who traditionally earned income with elephants and by finding solutions to mitigate human-elephant conflicts. We are always cooperating closely with local organizations and communities. With the ambition to develop our conservation projects in Thailand, we are now looking for a dynamic and dedicated conservation manager.
