Job Description: Field investigator
The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is a UK registered non-profit organization working internationally to protect natural environments and the human rights of people who depend on them.
EJF is working in Thailand to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and human rights abuses on fishing vessels and actively promote improvements to policy- making, corporate governance and management of fisheries.
EJF is seeking to employ a ‘Field investigator’ in Thailand to conduct in-depth field-based research in order to deliver EJF campaign objectives. This position will involve conducting initial desk-based research into areas of interest as well as conducting fieldwork, research and investigations alongside EJF campaigners.
Successful candidates should be comfortable working independently and be confident in: conducting independent field-based research work, conducting interviews with potentially vulnerable groups and taking high-quality photograph stills. Candidates should also be prepared to travel within Thailand, potentially at short notice and for extended periods of time.
Post Title: Field investigator
Type of appointment: Fixed-term
Remuneration: 45,000 – 55,000 baht per month, depending on experience
Duration of contract: 6 months (potentially renewable or convertible to a permanent position, subject to performance review)
Location: Bangkok based with need to travel often.
This position is open to Thai citizens only.
