EMPLOYMENT OFFER – “Project Manager” in Bangkok
Kids Home Foundation is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious, organization based in Chiang Mai that supports over 1000 children in need and their families living in construction sites and slums. Through specifically tailored educational programs and flexible individual support, Kids Home protects endangered children, allows families to becoming self-sustainable and gives opportunities for a better future.
In the past few years, Kids Home has developed the Access 4 Kids Project, which provides access to education, health and safety to migrant children living on construction sites. The project - designed to be scalable and replicable – offers a sustainable model of development for communities working is the construction sector.
Responsibilities of the advertised position:
The Project Manager in Bangkok will work under direct supervision of Kids Home HQ in Chiang Mai. The candidate is responsible for ensuring the sound implementation and management of the A4K Project conducted by Kids Home Foundation in Bangkok, in consideration with the organization's objectives and policy.
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:
Human Resources: Management and supervision of Kids Home Foundation's local team in Bangkok -10 team members in the first year, 20 in the second year. This also includes support to the recruitment and supervision of international volunteers. The Project Manager is responsible for promoting a constructive and productive working environment among the team, and for actively supporting information sharing, transparency and dialogue among the employees and with the beneficiaries of the A4K Project.
Project Management: Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the A4K Project on the field, respecting its objectives and targeting as much as possible the most vulnerable children and families. The A4K Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the decisions received from the Foundation management are followed and effectively implemented on-field. She/he is in charge of reporting on all significant actions, decisions and events that impact on the development of the Project, according to the timing and format established.
Finance: Design and monitor the A4K Project budget in Bangkok under the supervision of Kids Home Foundation HQ in Chiang Mai.
Fund-Raising: Support/bring inputs to the fund-raising campaign.
Social Work: In order to reach the most vulnerable children, the Project Manager is responsible to engage his/her team in high-quality social work, ensuring that field-work is extensively undertaken to successfully reach the beneficiaries and help them as individuals and as communities.
Communication: Support the internal and external communication: facilitation of visits for partners, communication documents and reporting on the Project to supervisors, donors, local authorities and/or other external entities.
Required skills:
Training: Master's Degree in relevant field (project management and/or social sciences, social work, special education, psychology, sociology...)
Experience: Strong experience in project/team management. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required. Previous experience in social work is recommended.
Computer skills: Good skills in standard office computer.
Language skills: Proficiency in both written/spoken English and Thai languages.
Personal characteristics: Excellent analytical, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, flexible.
Position status and contract duration: Local employee on one-year contract (expected to start in June 2015), to be renewed upon agreement by both parties.
Compensation: 28,000 THB up
