Responsibilities of the advertised position:

Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a professional and dedicated local Advocacy Advisor who will support the Foundation’s Systemic Impact work engaging the construction and real estate sector of Thailand to implement the Chiang Mai Framework for Action (CMFA), a comprehensive set of tools to guide companies in improving the living conditions of construction site camps where workers and their families live, and their access to essential public services.

The employee will work under direct supervision of the Director of Advocacy and Engagement.

Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:

Advocacy and Engagement

  • Identifying and conducting outreach to new companies (construction and real estate companies), as well as other key strategic partners such as trade platforms and private sector associations
  • Drafting and developing partnership commitments, agreements and MoUs with companies and strategic partners
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for companies on implementing the CMFA together with Baan Dek’s Social Advisors
  • Support administrative functions in engaging companies, drafting emails, correspondence, coordinating and facilitating meetings and calls with company staff
  • Manage and monitor Baan Dek’s relationships with the private sector, specifically monitoring companies’ progress and adherence to the CMFA and any other agreements signed with Baan Dek using the Salesforce system
  • Support project implementation by developing and coordinating with colleagues the development of tools to support company engagement
  • Provide support to the Systemic Impact team in coordinating and implementing the public launch of the CMFA tools at the end of 2021
  • Support the Director of Advocacy and Engagement in any matters relating to outreach, monitoring and managing of relationships with the private sector

 

Administrative support: Work closely with the management team in the development of requested communication, financial, activities, etc. when needed :

  • Provide support in general administrative processes related to HR (recruitment, contract, visa, work permit, leave record), organization status and legal requirements (assistance in respect of administrative and legal procedures required in Thailand);
  • Support in organizing the documentation and information related to the activity of the Foundation;
  • Support in translating documents (Thai / English, English / Thai and to / from other languages through external contributors) according to requests from the management team.
  • Support the Management Team in day-to-day missions and projects. The employee shall observe the organization’s values and objectives and will commit to facilitate all procedures and field activities to ensure the sound management of Baan Dek Foundation’s programs

Qualifications:

Nationality: Thai

Language: Native Thai speaker, fluent spoken and written English

Education: Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (Sustainability, Social development, Business Sociology, Political Science, International Development etc.)

Experience:

  • Experience conducting outreach, preferably with the private sector
  • Experience in facilitating and coordinating trainings or workshops
  • Experience in using CRM systems such as Salesforce is desirable
  • Experience in project support and implementation for social development

Working hours:  Full time - Monday to Friday (flexible schedule) and occasionally on weekend & evenings

Salary: Starting at 23,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications) Complementary advantages provided (transportation and phone allowance, etc.)
