Regional Finance Director – Asia Pacific

The Opportunity

In this exciting leadership opportunity, you will be accountable for leading the Finance function for Plan International in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, by ensuring that both external and internal financial standards and regulations are adhered to, while providing key strategic analysis on the business environment, with a key focus on implementing effective solutions throughout the region. 

 

Reporting directly to Executive Director for APAC, & Policy and Practice, and as a member of the APAC Management Team, you will have overall responsibility for the finances of the APAC region, and will monitor the performance of the country offices (CO’s) in the region, to ensure high standards, identify areas of concerns, and implementing a strategy to ensure that all CO’s meet their key KPI’s, whole also supporting them to strengthen their financial capacity. 

 

Some, but not all, of the additional tasks that you will be responsible for include:

  • Manage a highly capable team that will support you, the region, and the Asia Pacific Hub office on key financial aspects, including budget, cash flow, and treasury management, and general oversight
  • Plan, prepare, and provide strategic financial analysis and advise to regional management
  • Working with all COs to ensure that the financial capacity and output meets internal and external requirements, while providing any support they may require
  • Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes with all COs to ensure that the budget is an accurate estimate of future spend projections.
  • Create reports (using Power BI) that are accurate, relevant and identify areas of concerns and action points for COs.
  • Develop and analyse cost benefit of the regions current business delivery strategy to ensure a strong performing return on investment.
  • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analysing data requirements, while evaluating and analysing data and creating solutions.
  • Liaise with Finance and Business development leads throughout the region, and ensure there is coordinated approach and strategy in-terms of the mobilization of resources and financial management
  • Ensure appropriate financial control processes, procedures and systems are in place and adhered to
  • Ensure that key financial risks are reported and followed upon on.

 

 

Do you have what it takes?

To be successful in this role you will need among other things:

  • Relevant financial and business analysis qualification
  • Relevant advanced university degree preferable
  • 8-10 years’ experience in a similar senior roles
  • The ability to provide strategic leadership
  • The ability to develop, motivate and manage finance staff, while promoting high performance.
  • The ability to implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analysing data requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective Communication skills, including facilitation and influencing
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, internet.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts
  • The ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
  • Knowledge of Modelling techniques and methods
  • Knowledge on SAP, Power BI, and Dynamics 365 will be an added value

 

Location:                    Flexible (within an Asia Pacific country office)

Type of Role:             Three Year Fixed Term contract

Reports to:                 Director of Asia Pacific, Policy and Practice

Remuneration:          Competitive salary and package available (local T&C)

This is a national staff contract position under competitive local terms and conditions.   There are no expat benefits available.   

 

The contracting body will be the relevant Plan country office, on their terms and conditions.
