Civil Society Partnerships Project – Call for Applications
Position: Curriculum Development Consultant
Posting: Located in Khon Kaen, Thailand with some travel throughout Thailand and the region
The Khon Kaen University Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM) is recruiting for highly qualified and motivated persons to work as consultants for the USAID-funded Civil Society Partnerships Project. The Project aims to develop the capacity of civil society organization (CSO) staff and organizations in the Lower Mekong Sub-region to increase their effectiveness in mobilizing their constituents to improve local governance. More specifically, and with the assistance of consultant experts, the Project will conduct activities to strengthen the administration and management skills of current CSO leaders through the development and delivery of practitioner training courses in Thailand and the region.
Consultant Terms of Reference
Under contract with CSNM, the consultant will work as part of a team comprised of consultants from LMS countries on the following tasks:
Review and assess curricula and materials on project and organization management themes already in use in the LMS;
Redesign, improve and contextualize existing curriculum and materials for use across the LMS using local languages and examples, as possible;
Using feedback from persons participating in trial training courses in Thailand and other LMS countries, as possible, revise the curricula and materials and prepare final course manuals and guidelines; and
Participate in workshops with ICT specialists to make course content available to learners via the internet and mobile applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or higher in education, social sciences or related field;
Strong experience developing curricula for training CSO staff with emphasis on project and organization management themes;
Experience and strong interest in developing e-learning opportunities for CSO staff and organizations across the LMS;
Able to travel in the LMS to complete tasks on schedule and as needed;
Able to work effectively as a member of a multicultural team; and
Fluent English writing and speaking skills.
Consultant contracts will be for an estimated 25 work-days subject to negotiation, with salary based on confirmed salary history and experience with similar assignments. All costs associated with necessary local and international travel will be included in the consultant contract.
