Finance Assistant, Finance Unit, Finance and Operations Department

 

Position description

 

The role of the Finance Assistant is to assist the Finance Manager to deliver successful financial outcomes in an accurate and timely manner through the provision of excellent customer services while complying with organisation policies and procedures, and legal requirements.

Key deliverables

  • Accurate and up to date General Ledger
  • Manage the cash advance clearing accounting transaction
  • Assistance to Finance Manager in auditing financial report
  • Assistance to Finance Manager as required

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Oversee and daily General Ledger transactions from all sources authorized by the Finance Manager
  • Coordinate with finance staff for project accounts codes and other related accounts
  • Prepare General Ledger adjustment for manager approval
  • Prepare a monthly aging report (Reconcile accounting General Ledger)
  • Verify and ensure that the payment vouchers, journal vouchers and petty cash vouchers fit the transactions with the accounting system AppSheet, and all signatures, in the order number and supporting documents on the vouchers are in place.
  • Check and ensure that all vouchers are kept in folders quarterly and accurately.
  • Assist FM to print monthly fixed asset accounts and send them to GS. Then, the record between GS and Finance Record must be reconciled and equalled. 
  • Assist the Finance Manager in closing financial transactions
  • Assist Finance Unit in preparation of documentation for the audit
  • Follow up document requirement from auditor
  • Any other reasonable task requested by Finance Manager

Required qualifications, skills and experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degrees in accounting
  • 2 Year experience in the accountant position will be receiving special consideration
  • Experiences with an external audit firm or office of accounting consultant will be receiving special consideration
  • Basic knowledge bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures 
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise work tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and to make quick decisions
  • Ability to communicate in English language
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and coordinate with others
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft Office applications

 

* Initial contract is six months with possible extension based on performance and availability of fund.
