Youth Empowerment and Raising Awareness on Climate Impact Reduction

 

Background

Youth have the capacity to become agents of change. Therefore, Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation-GNTH is working with Mahidol University to develop content raising climate awareness in the form of a child-friendly mini handbook based on academic arguments. This project will target youth in urban areas who are affected by the climate crisis to promote lifestyle adaptations that reduce climate impacts.

 

Goal: Targeted youth populations can understand and communicate about climate change to raise awareness of climate impact reduction practices in their community.

 

Project key activities:

  • Produce ‘Living to Reduce Climate Impact’ handbook with our partner Mahidol University (expected publication in June 2023).
  • Develop content to be implemented in extracurricular activities at 3 participating schools in Bangkok.
  • Launch climate relevant content through social media.

 

Scope of Work

The Climate Change Project Event aims to promote the important work of climate impact reduction and adaptation with highlight on the role young people as a key change agent and could help promote among their peers and their respective communities. The event will take place on 27 August 2023, at Bangkok Art and Cultural Center(BACC). The successful consultant will have responsibility for the followings:

 

  1. Planning, preparation, and management of the GNTH Climate change Event, which will include gallery walk and/or exhibition related to productions from students participating in the Project Handbook development, booths, and climate project showcase both offline and online activities.
  2. Coordinate and arrange the event space with GNTH Project team and project schools.
  3. Act as MC for the event
  4. Arrange two panelist discussions (talk show) with experts on climate change and student leaders participating in the project.
  5. Responsible for inviting media to the event.
  6. Arrange breaks for 100 participants: students, teachers and guests.

Deliverables

The Climate Change Project Event

  1. Design, organisation, and management of the event
    • Co-design event content, agenda, format, activities (e.g., gallery walk/exhibition, showcase)
    • Organise and manage the event throughout the process.
    • Be MC of throughout the event
  2. Panel discussions (Talk Show) arrangement
    • Conduct panel discussion (Talk show) with experts and student leaders.
  3. Participant’s management
    • Arrange and manage participants’ registration on site.
    • Arrange and distribute snacks and eco bags to registered participants.
  4. Media coverage
    • Ensure media presence and report coverage of the event both off-line and on-line.
  5. Report
    • Post-event summary report on the event, including but not limited to:
      • Detailed Information on main activities conducted during the event.
      • Participant/ beneficiary data, separated by gender.
      • Tracking of media coverage on the event including link, reach, viewership
      • Collection of activity photos
    • Reports are made available in Thai and English
    • Produce promotional videos: 5-minute case study video clip, featuring success stories of the project (Handbook production, student’s showcase).

Material delivery

- All materials produced are made available for Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation in hard copy and soft copy.

- Materials are delivered in high quality and produced in conformity to Good Neighbors Branding guidelines and requirements.

- Materials and/or media platforms produced in relation to the event must be available for Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation to readily access, co-manage, amend, and maintain.

 

Management of Consultancy

Any consultant who will work directly with children will be required to sign the Good Neighbors safeguarding policy.

All communication products must be designed and executed in close consultation with GNTH Project team in ensuring the proper branding and policies of the organization. The consultant will work closely with the GNTH Project team and report directly to GNTH’s Project Manager. GNTH must approve all documents and VDO which will be developed by the consultant.

 

Consent

All the people photographed must provide written consent for further use and distribution under Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation’s supervision (consent forms will be provided by GNTH).

 

Copyrights

The materials produced will be copyrighted to Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation and any violation of copyright law will be pursued appropriately.

Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation asserts all proprietary rights in and to all names and service mark of Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation. Any use of Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation’s service mark including the Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation name and Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation logo in any form in connection with any product and service that does not belong to Good Neighbors (Thailand) Foundation, unless otherwise authorized in a written agreement.

 

Key Qualifications:

  1. Strong experience in designing, planning and organizing and managing events.
  2. Experience in non-profit organisation promotional campaigns
  3. Proficient in PR and media relations with demonstrated ability to pitch content for media.
  4. Have teams/personnel and necessary assets to carry out the tasks.
  5. Able to meet and discuss with the GNTH Project team upon request.
  6. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Consultancy period:  June-September 2023

 

Term of payment:  

No.

1st payment (70%)

Upon contract signing and proposal submission. This cost is for the workshop arrangement

Final Payment (30%)

submission of final report
