Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be expected to contribute towards the achievement of activities outlined in the Life Skills Based Education for 21st Century Teachers Logical Framework, Workplan, Performance Measurement Framework and Budget. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager, Life Skills Development Program to manage and develop the project. This position will involve a wide variety of activities including: 1) project administration and coordination with vendors; 2) supporting the Training Officer in coaching teachers from Schools and the Education Service Area Offices (ESAO) 3) coordinating with partners including Office of Basic Education Commission, UNICEF, partner schools and ESAOs ; 4) supporting partners through monitoring and evaluating visits to ensure the Right To Play concepts are being implemented; 5) building on existing relationships with the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, and other partners and networking.
Location Description:
The position is based in Bangkok with regular travel in other provinces around the country for the purpose of conducting coaching session with teachers and regular monitoring and evaluation visits. Thus, the successful candidate must be willing to travel out of Bangkok town for up to a week at a time. The position is also expected to provide support to other projects of Right To Play in Thailand from time to time, as deemed necessary by the Program Manager.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Project Administration
Complete weekly and monthly activity reports and submit to the Program Manager in a timely manner;
Ensure transparent accounting of project finances in line with Right To Play standard operating procedures and regulations, and report monthly to the Program Manager and Finance Officer;
Write stories from the field for newsletters and the Right To Play website as required;
Collect monthly data in line with the Performance Measurement Framework;
Ensure transparent management of Right To Play assets;
Coordinate procurement process with vendors i.e. production team, graphic designer and such
2. Adult Education and Workshop Facilitation:
Deliver engaging and relevant training workshops to participating teachers
3. Coordination of Activities
Motivate teachers to utilize Right To Play’s ideas in their classroom;
Ensure OBEC and UNICEF are aware and consulted on program plans;
Ensure that the school directors and teachers understand Right To Play’s monitoring and evaluation system as it relates to reporting on children and teachers actively involved in sport and play activities, and that all activities involving children are included in the numbers reported;
Coordinate with Government, NGOs/CBOs to ensure participation in partner events i.e. launch of the guidebook;
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
Assist in gathering information for Outcome Performance Reports, through regular Monitoring and Evaluation visits to the field, as per the Performance Measurement Framework and Logical Framework for the Program.
5. Networking and Partnership Building
Maintain a good working relationship with the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, ESAO, schools, and partners;
Cooperate with NGOs and CBOs based in Bangkok and maintain a good working relationship. Ensure the Program Manager is informed of any developments/initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Previous experience with an NGO;
Fluency in English and Thai;
Experience in administration such as financial management and report writing;
Self-starter with confidence;
Experience in education delivery;
Computer literacy in Word and Excel;
High degree of professionalism;
University Degree, preferably in a related field;
Belief in the importance of sport as an effective learning tool.
Desirable:
Experience training adults;
Experience in child development;
Experience with the Thai education system;
Experience working with school authorities.
