For Gender Expert Consultant to conducting a workshop
Background:
WWF Thailand has a distinguished history of more than 30 years of active engagement in the country. During this time, we have successfully executed numerous projects and programs in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and various organizations. Moreover, WWF has introduced Statement of Principles to extend our commitment to the promotion of human rights, gender equality, and the preservation of Indigenous Peoples' rights within our projects. The Principles encompass three key elements: Human Rights, Indigenous Peoples, and Gender Equality, and we adhere to these Principles in the context of all our activities, which encompass policy advocacy, research, partnerships, and communications, while also respecting national laws and recognizing the role of the State.
Gender equality is a fundamental human right and an essential foundation for a sustainable, resilient, and peaceful world in which people live in harmony with nature. Our Gender Equality principle guides us in advancing and integrating gender equality as a fundamental right in all our work.
However, it's important to not only have these Principles but also to implement them effectively. To strengthen the capacity of our project teams in terms of gender equality, WWF-Thailand needs a Gender expert who genuinely understands gender issues in conservation programs to deliver gender equality knowledge to WWF staff.
This expert will conduct a gender workshop for WWF’s staff, enabling them to recognize gender issues within their work, effectively address and mitigate these issues. The workshop will cover essential elements, including a gender perspective, gender mainstreaming, data collection, implementation strategies, and effective communication within the context of conservation programs.
Scope: The Gender expert will be responsible for conducting a one-day workshop to WWF staff in Bangkok. This workshop will focus on gender equality within the conservation context. The participants will be around 30-40 persons.
Timelines: The duration of the contract is one month. It includes the preparation phase, training phase, and submission of the final report. The workshop is expected to occur on 27 November 2023.
