POSITION TITLE:    Consultant - Customer Interviews for Fahfon Technologies

LOCATION:              Bangkok

PROJECT:                USDA Thailand Regional Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN)

REPORTS TO:         Business Development Specialist

 

Background:

Winrock International (Winrock) is a non-profit organization that works around the world to increase economic opportunity, sustain natural resources, and protect the environment. The USDA-funded Thailand Regional Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN) project is a five-year, $16 million project implemented by Winrock. Winrock implements RAIN in 11 provinces in Thailand and supports smallholder farmers and many other agricultural actors in Thailand’s public and private sectors. RAIN identifies emerging climate smart innovations (CSi), promotes CSi to farmers, and ensures sustainability by facilitating market access to CSi in 6 agriculture value chains. To facilitate market access to CSi, RAIN is developing business models for 30 CSi to scale to a total of 30,000 farmers.

 

Position Summary:

RAIN seeks a consultant to support the evaluation of a technology (Fahfon App and Fahfon Sense) by interviewing current users. The Fahfon phone application and Fahfon Sense weather station are integrated technologies to revolutionize weather, climate, and environmental data management. The Fahfon phone application offers hyper-resolution weather forecasts, while the Fahfon Sense weather station measures 17 variables, including weather, dust and carbon levels, using solar panels and batteries. These technologies aim to support agriculture by providing real-time, precise environmental data and forecasts.

The consultant will conduct comprehensive interviews with current users and customers of the Fahfon phone application and Fahfon Sense weather station to gather insights on user experiences and suggestions for improvement.
 

This position is open for Thai Nationals only.
 

Scope of Work:

  1. Interview Planning and Design
    1. Develop detailed interview questions tailored to different user groups (e.g., village leaders, local government officials, farmers).
    2. Schedule interviewees, ensuring a representative sample of users.
  2. Conducting Interviews
    1. Schedule and conduct in-depth interviews with selected users.
  3. Reporting
    1. Record and transcribe interviews accurately.
    2. Analyze qualitative data.
    3. Compile a report summarizing user experiences and suggestions for improvement.
    4. Provide a presentation to RAIN and partners about the report findings.

  • Complete and accurate transcripts of all interviews conducted.

  • A presentation summarizing the report's key points for stakeholders.

 Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in qualitative research, particularly in conducting user interviews and customer feedback sessions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize qualitative data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Thai and English.
  • Familiarity with agricultural technology and rural community engagement is a plus.
