Job Title: Human Resources Internship

Reports to : Human Resources Officer

Location : Bangkok, Thailand

Starting date: 16 July 2025

Contract duration: 3 months with possible extension depending upon funding availability

 

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international non-governmental organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate for the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people.  The organisation was founded in November 1980 and is present in over 50 countries. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support of an international office in Rome. The style of JRS service is direct and personal, working in situations of greatest need, seeking the long-term wellbeing of refugees and displaced persons, while not neglecting their immediate and urgent needs. JRS offers opportunities to a wide variety of staff, local and international, while maintaining a realistic and localised scheme of salary/stipend, insurance, etc. 

In Thailand, JRS manages four programmes spread throughout urban and rural areas serving refugees and asylum seekers. JRS Thailand country office is in Bangkok, with Project offices in Mae Hong Son, Mae Sot, and Bangkok. The main areas of work include education, psychosocial services, protection, and emergency assistance. PURPOSE:

The HR internship will assist Human Resources Officer, JRS Thailand, for day to day Human Resources management and Administration of JRS Thailand of Country Office.

 

RELATIONS: 

The Human Resources Internship directly reports to the Human Resources Officer and works closely with the Country Office Team.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resources Intern will work with the HR Officer to complete the database as follows:

  • Insert the information into MS Excel template with accuracy according the guideline of HR Officer.
  • Assist in generating and tracking training reports.   Assist in certification of employment letters and other related documents for staff members upon their request.
  • Assist in the recruitment process (pre-interview phase, appointment candidate, post announcement, administer tests, interview arrangements, send out messages to candidates, carry out reference checks, ensure complete documentations, etc.
  • Assist in processing all HR purchase requisition and payment requests.
  • Assist in making payments for consultants, volunteers, and internships
  • Assist with digital filing and ensure all relevant documents are in staff personal file.
  • Serve as back up necessary HR activities such as Birthday , Farewell, Staff Care, and other welfare provisions for staff.
  • To help Country Director and HR Officer assess and correct data training of staff and create report.
  • To record and update JRS Thailand staff leave in the database application
  • Assist in planning and preparation of the meeting, conference.
  • Perform related work as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Thai nationality only is a must.
  • University degree or will graduate in Human Resources, Political Science, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • Experience in working with international organizations or governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage

 

Skills 

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity
  • Proven ability to produce quality work to set deadlines
  • Knowledge of Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good command of English and Thai Languages both writing and speaking.
  • Good writing  and communication skills
  • Administrative skills are required
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure
