VACANCY: Senior Manager Research Partnerships
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is inviting applications for a Senior Manager Research Partnerships which is a full-time position, classified at Level 6 (LE6). The closing date for applications is Thursday, 11 September 2025, 4.30pm (Bangkok time). A merit list will be drawn upon to fill future vacancies.

Employment will be subject to the successful completion of pre-employment probity checks (including police checks) and a medical examination. The actual start date will be confirmed following the outcome of your probity checks and police checks, which will be carried out in Thailand, Australia, any countries where the successful candidate is a citizen, and any countries where the successful candidate has resided for 6 months or more in the past 5 years. Please note that costs for a police check in any countries other than Thailand must be met by the successful candidate.
For prospective expatriate employees, please note that all costs associated with the employee’s relocation to and stay in Thailand is the employee’s responsibility. This includes visa fees and costs to travel to Thailand. The employee will also be responsible for organising their own residential accommodation during their period of stay.
The Embassy can provide limited assistance to the employee and immediate family members (spouse and children) when requesting for Thai visa(s) and permit to stay.
It is the employees’ responsibility to obtain the relevant documents and ensure that they comply with immigration regulations that relate to their employment with the Embassy in Thailand. Prospective applicants are advised to investigate living conditions and costs. In considering this position, Australian applicants should make themselves aware of the Australian taxation arrangements for Australian citizens working overseas.

As part of CSIRO’s Southeast Asia (SEA) team, the CSIRO Thailand Office based at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok is working to support regional capacity building, connect great Australian innovations to high growth markets and create long-lasting collaborative networks.
In particular, CSIRO has a strong track record of working with partners across SEA to support innovation in food for sustainability. Over the past 12 months CSIRO has partnered with Singapore’s A*STAR to deliver an Innovations in Food for Sustainability (IF4S) partnership comprising a bilateral grants stream and a Venture Exchange Program, and we are now looking to replicate this partnership model with partners in Thailand.
About the position
Working together with the CSIRO SEA team and colleagues in Australia, the Senior Manager Research Partnerships will undertake a variety of complex tasks that support the CSIRO SEA work program. This will include leading key program design, delivery, monitoring and reporting. It will also involve building and maintaining critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders in priority sectors to ensure successful project outcomes. The Senior Manager Research Partnerships is also expected to represent program activities across the ASEAN region and be a key point of contact for program partners.
