The Pestalozzi Children's Foundation (PCF) is a Swiss non-profit organisation, which works worldwide. Our vision is to create a world as a global village of peace through education. PCF seeks to enhance inclusive and equitable quality education to promote sustainable development and living peacefully together in 12 different countries in Central America, Southeast Asia, East Africa and South East Europe. PCF is implementing projects through local and experienced partner organisations, which are responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the joint projects.

In Thailand, PCF is working with local partner organisations to provide support for girls and boys in rural/remote areas and emergencies contexts to improve access to quality education that is relevant to their language and culture.  

 

1. Objective of the Training

To strengthen the capacity of teachers and partner and strategic partner staff to apply AI tools for creative, multilingual, and culturally relevant education.

Specific Objectives:

• Build foundational and applied skills in using AI for bilingual–multilingual teaching and learning.
• Promote ethical, safe, and responsible AI use in school settings.
• Enable participants to produce at least one prototype learning material using AI.
• Collect needs, gaps, and opportunities for AI-enabled MTB-MLE.
• Generate initial concepts to support the design of PCF’s future AI projects.

 

2. Participants (Thai)

• Teachers from 2–4 Full MTB-MLE Good Practice Schools supported by FAL
• PCF partner project staff and strategic partner staff (TH-MTBMLE Action Network) in Northern Thailand responsible for multilingual material development
• 1–2 schools from the Indigenous Peoples Network / IMPECT and the Alternative Education Network Total expected participants: 25-35 persons

 

3. Tentative Agenda

Day 1 – 20 December 2025

• Overview of Artificial Intelligence in education
• AI tools for language learning and multilingual content creation
• AI for lesson planning, worksheets, storybooks, interactive media
• Needs Assessment Session: facilitated reflection & guided questions

 

Day 2 – 21 December 2025

• Creative AI: Images, audio, video, and multimedia
• Hands-on prototyping of multilingual or intercultural learning materials
• Brainstorming Session: “Future Directions for AI-enabled MTB-MLE”
• Presentation of group and individual outputs

 

4. Dates and Place

Preferred dates for the training are 20–21 December 2025 The training shall take place in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Costs for transport, accommodation and alimentation are covered by PCF for the duration of the training.
