Rapid Asia Internship Program

 

If you are thinking of entering the world of social research and consulting, an internship at Rapid Asia could be an ideal start for you.

Rapid Asia is an independent management consultancy firm based in Bangkok that specializes in evaluations for programs, projects, social marketing campaigns and other social development initiatives. We carry out program evaluations across a number of thematic areas including human trafficking, migration, gender, health, climate change, education etc. Our clients include major donors, UN agencies and international aid and development organizations. We take a regional approach to evaluations and have developed tools and indicators that can be used across borders for the purpose of evaluating program impact. Rapid Asia has to date carried out evaluations in 28 countries across Asia, Middle-East, Africa, Eastern Europe and South America.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an energetic person to join our small but dynamic team. Rapid Asia is looking for talented, motivated and passionate individuals – like you – from around the world who bring knowledge, innovative thinking and different ideas to our project team.

Our internship program offers two positions, and candidates should choose one position to apply for.

 

1. Research and Communication Intern (Only Thai Nationality)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing presentations, infographics, and communication materials for meetings, workshops, and reports.
  • Support the layout and formatting of research reports and policy briefs following branding guidelines.
  • Document and summarise meetings, webinars, or field activities (e.g., note-taking, photo documentation, post-event summaries).
  • Help update, draft, and manage content for websites, newsletters, and social media channels.
  • Track and compile media coverage and partner updates relevant to the organization’s work.
  • Attending events, seminars, workshops, or functions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative assistance for events (coordination, invitations, follow-ups).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

2. Project Assistant Intern

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk research and background information gathering to support project reports or proposals.
  • Help prepare summaries, briefs, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Contribute to data collection and entry, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support the development of communication materials (e.g., social media posts, event highlights, newsletters).
  • Document project activities through photos, notes, and short write-ups for visibility and reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the project team.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve project implementation and communication.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Requirements:

Educational Background

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Communications, International Relations, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • Background or coursework in project management, research methods, or media and communication is an advantage.

 

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Creative and adaptable, able to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Interest in development issues, such as sustainability, labour rights, education, or social inclusion.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute ideas for improving project communication and outreach.

 

Other Requirements

  • Availability to commit full-time for a defined internship period (e.g., 3–6 months).
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, research, or development projects is an asset.

 

Selection:

The Rapid Asia team will conduct an online interview with the candidate. Following the initial interview, the candidate will be asked to write a two-page essay on a selected topic from a provided list. The final decision will be based on a balanced evaluation of both the interview and the essay.
