Job Description

 

Job Title: Job Coach/Inclusion Teacher (Experienced)

Department: Inclusive Education

Responsible to:  Head of Education

Work hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Uniform: Smart/casual

Salary:  40,000-50,000 THB/month

Probation: 4 months

 

Main role: To ensure the smooth day to day running of the training centre by ensuring that:

  • A safe and secure environment is provided for our team, our trainees, and any visitors
  • Liaise closely with other departments for trainees’ related activities
  • Train and support internal and external internship providers

 

1. Programme Planning and Delivery:

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan curriculum, design resources, implement interventions, and set individual targets for trainees.
  • Design and deliver training sessions in line with Steps’ approach which have outcomes that are clear, accessible, motivating, and purposeful to trainees.
  • Collect trainee evidence and data aligned with Steps’ accredited curriculum (e.g., ASDAN, TPQI, BTEC).
  • Actively participate in ongoing meetings for programme and BU development and projects.
  • Collect  trainee data and conduct assessments using Steps’ in-house tools to track progress.

 

2. Supporting Trainees, Internal and External Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with schools and employers on projects that offer trainees work experience or community engagement opportunities, such as events, open houses, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with Steps' internal teams, such as the coffee shop and business units, to plan the structure of trainees' work experience sessions, design and create resources, and align with individual targets for each trainee.
  • For trainees under your case management, be responsible for writing reports, forms, evaluations, and meeting formally with families biannually or upon request.
  • Maintain regular communication with trainees’ families via email, phone, or social media platforms like Seesaw. Help ensure there is weekly communication with parents/families whether by email, phone, or social media (Seesaw).
  • Assist trainees at events, workshops, and trips throughout the year, including weekends and after centre hours (see Work Hours below).

 

3. Programme Development and Leadership

  • Contribute to the development of inclusive training programmes, accessible resources, and meaningful pathways that foster skills for life, employment, and independence, in line with each trainee's individual learning style and capability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build and maintain relationships, promoting the Education Unit to parents, guardians, educators, medical professionals, government, and the local community.
  • Develop and implement policies that align with educational standards and legal requirements, such as child protection and safeguarding.
  • Serve as a resource for the company, offering expertise on approaches and support for neurodivergent learners including providing training for internal staff and external stakeholders.

 

4. Aligning Steps’ Mission and Creating an Inclusive Environment:

  • Promote an environment of acceptance and understanding.
  • Support Steps' mission within the community.
  • Adhere to the approach, beliefs, and framework of Steps.
  • Stay updated with best practices through regular reading of journal articles and studies, and expanding professional expertise through ongoing professional development activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inclusive education, teaching, or supporting neurodivergent learners
  • Working proficiency in communication skills in English
  • Skills in designing teaching resources (such as digital skills)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inclusive education training
  • Specialised training such as sensory integration, behaviour therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), OT (Occupational Therapy), etc.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with professionals
  • Master’s degree in Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, Psychology, or related field.

Work Days/Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 42-43 weeks/year (refer to the annual Training Centre Calendar)
  • Supporting trainees during the weekends (maximum of 4 weekend days per year)
  • 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Supporting trainees after centre hours (maximum of 5 events per year)

 

Workplace:

Steps Training Centres (Ekkamai 10 and S107).

 

Annual Leave

There will be 7-8 weeks of paid annual leave* when the training centre is closed (please see the training centre calendar). It is expected that the training centre team participates in professional development, planning, and administrative tasks during INSET days* and, at their discretion, on some holidays.

If you need to take time off whilst the training centre is open, please discuss with your supervisor at least 30 days prior where possible. Please note that leave when the training centre opens is only granted in emergency situations.

* Annual leave dates and INSET dates are specified in the annual Training Centre Calendar.

 

Salary

Salary is paid on the last working day of each month. If the last working day of the month happens to be a public holiday, we will make every effort to pay the previous day. If you have any approved expenses, you are responsible for submitting the tax receipts to Accounts before the 25th of the month.

 

Police Clearance

All employees are required to have a police check which will be organised by Steps. This will be updated annually, and should the employee have a criminal record, Steps has the right to cancel the employee’s contract with immediate effect.

 

Health Insurance

As of January 2021, all employees who have completed their probation period will be added to the organisation's health insurance policy.
