Background
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a US non-profit, tax-exempt, private organization established in 1895 that saves wildlife and wild places by understanding critical issues, crafting science-based solutions, and taking conservation actions that benefit nature and humanity. With a presence in more than 60 countries, WCS has amassed biological knowledge, cultural understanding, and partnerships to ensure that vibrant, wild places and wildlife thrive alongside local communities. WCS have now developed a Wildlife Crime Leadership Initiative (WCLI), a long-term leadership training program to develop the next generation of effective law enforcement leaders, who are committed to protecting wildlife, and who can collaborate across agencies, sectors, and countries to address the illegal wildlife trade.
Project Description
WCS have developed a large amount of learning content across eight courses as part of the Wildlife Crime Leadership Initiative, including 30 hours of video across 214 video lectures, nearly 250 lessons, and over 2,500 pages of lesson transcripts. A Learning Content Consultant is required to support the revision and organization these materials.
Deliverables:
1) Enhance learning materials in the LMS: The Consultant will review and enhance eight courses in the WCLI along with their associated transcripts, working with the WCS team to identify and implement improvements. This is expected to include the below, plus other potential tasks to be agreed upon by consultant and WCS as required:
a. Conversion of course materials into SCORM packages
b. Developing new visual media for SCORM packages.
c. Storyboarding all videos to identify b-roll footage needs.
d. Sourcing b-roll footage, either through AI tools or working with WCS global and country programs to obtain footage for editing as needed.
e. Editing videos with the improvements as discussed with WCS and inserting finalised material into the SCORM packages.
2) Update WCLI written promotional material: The Consultant will update WCS’s promotional material, to include the syllabus, prospectus, set-up guide and other related materials as guided by the WCS team.
3) Organize learning materials: The Consultant will develop a learning content management system for WCS, along with supporting protocols, to improve the organization of WCLI materials, including support for multiple languages.
Workplan:
This is for an estimated 120 days and all work must be completed by September 2026
