Join Us as a Program Officer

 

Location: Chiang Mai | Travel: Up to 40% of work time | Report to: Senior Program Coordinator                    Status: Independent Contractor

 

Are you a professional passionate about making a difference? CPI is seeking a Program Officer who will support organizing and delivering partner capacity-building, emergency preparedness, safety, security, and thematic training while supporting the Senior Program Coordinator with grants management, coordination, networking, meetings, and safety and duty-of-care guidelines.

 

Summary of Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Organize the risk assessment and mitigation workshops, essential emergency preparedness response sessions, humanitarian negotiation training, and emergency response refresher courses.
  • Deliver capacity-building training to partners covering Project Cycle Management (PCM), Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Grants, Finance and Leadership, Procurement, and Safeguarding, etc.
  • Conduct cross-cutting thematic training to partner organizations.
  • Assist the Senior Program Coordinator in formulating safety and security guidelines for partners, deliver safety and security training, and conducting regular reviews, reflections, and evaluations of safety protocols.
  • Assist the Senior Program Coordinator in development, review, and continuous reflection process for operational Duty of Care guidelines.
  • Organize, participate in, and facilitate regular coordination meetings.
  • Assist the Senior Program Coordinator for the grants management, partner communication, coordination with trainers, and networking, as needed.
  • Other relevant tasks to assist and support the Senior Program Coordinator as needed.

 

Regular Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular activities to perform the primary responsibilities
  • Record the training participants database, training report, and support the smooth training session
  • Develop the workplan together with Senior Program Coordinator and track the progress to meet the set annual targets
  • Working with the local partners following humanitarian principles, international humanitarian standards, and ‘Do No Harm’ principle
  • Maintain strong coordination with partner organizations to ensure timely and effective project implementation.
  • Facilitate communication among partners, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with partners, donors, government authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the capacity building and technical training for partner organizations.
  • Assist the supervisor for the data collection, partner communication, documentation, reporting, and coordination with other departments
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Senior Program Coordinator

 

Partner Support

  • Work closely with partner organizations to provide technical assistance such as project management and other relevant supports to partners.
  • Facilitate coordination between partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in performing regular communication with partners to explore the challenges and needs in project implementation and partner organization.

 

Capacity Building and Supporting other Staff

  • Participate as a facilitator, co-facilitator, or assistant while conducting the training
  • Assist in preparing for conducting training, and arranging meetings or conferences
  • Record the training activities and submit the training reports in cooperation with the supervisor.

 

Operations and Administration

  • Maintain the security of documents and information on projects by following the organization’s protocol for storage of documents, emailing information, and sharing information.
  • Create and maintain a team spirit of mutual collaboration and respect with due regard to gender and cultural sensitivities.
  • Coordinate with different departments of REACH to deliver the desired outputs and outcomes effectively and efficiently

What We’re Looking For:

  • University degree with at least – 2 years’ experiences working for health and emergency projects
  • Bachelor’s degree, health, and humanitarian assistance related preferable
  • Previous working experience with local organizations, such as Community-based Organizations (CBOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Ethnic Health Organizations, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and International Non-Government Organizations (INGO)
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English is essential
  • Demonstrated skills in coordination and collaboration with variety of partner organizations
  • Good communication and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • Good software skills for M.S. word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail and quality.
  • Comfortable working with variety of partners and navigating complex relationships
  • Flexibility to allow for travel (up to 40% of work time), variable working hours, and some modifications of tasks and responsibilities as team and project needs change.
