Job Summary:
The Driver will be expected to contribute to the achievement of activities outlined in the Action Plan through provision of driving services for the Refugee Team.
Location Description:
The position is based in Mae Sot with regular travel around the province for the purpose of conducting a variety of sports, training and monitoring visits to 7 camps along the Thai-Burma/Myanmar border. Thus, the successful candidate must be willing to travel out of Mae Sot for up to a week at a time. The position is also expected to provide support to other projects of Right To Play in Thailand from time to time, as deemed necessary by the Refugee Program Manager.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Driving
• Drive Right To Play staff to and from project locations as required;
• Be on call if an emergency occurs regarding Right To Play staff that requires your driving assistance.
2. Vehicle maintenance
• Identify maintenance needs and maintain the Right To Play vehicle as necessary;
• Advise the Head Driver whenever maintenance is required at the shop.
• Wash and clean the vehicle on a regular basis
3. Vehicle administration
• Maintain a log book of kilometers driven, fuel purchased and maintenance performed for the Head Driver to submit to the Refugee Program Manger on a monthly basis – keep logbook in vehicle;
• Ensure that all driving/identification documentation including a driver’s license is valid.
• Provide copies of all driving and identification documentation to Right To Play.
Qualifications and Experience
• Driver’s license;
• Previous experience with an NGO;
• Fluency in English and/or Thai;
• High degree of professionalism;
• Belief in the importance of sport as an effective learning tool.
