Project Manager – LGBT (based in Bangkok)

 

Plan is an international humanitarian, child centred development organisation, implementing development programs that promote the realisation and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

 

Position: Project Manager - LGBT

Assignment Type:  One year contract with likely extension

Location: Based in Bangkok

 

Job background: The Project Manager -LGBT will lead a “Making Education Institutions Safe to Young LGBT Students“. This includes oversight and support a planning, implementation , technical assistance, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and fund raising. This position will also be responsible for coordination with other staff in Plan Country Office, project implementing partners and other funding and technical partners including UNESCO. This position is based full-time in Bangkok with 40% field travel.

 

Job purpose:  Implementation of LGBT projects in cooperation with project staff and others  • Ensure the project methodologies and approaches are evidence-based, consider contextual risks and opportunities and have in place measures to minimize risks and maximize benefits / opportunities • Annual planning • Monitor implementation of LGBT projects • Insure reporting and project related donor requirements are timely and of a high quality • Facilitate learning and knowledge management • Represent Plan Thailand at the country level on issues related to LGBT • Liaison with local Government and partners regarding LGBT projects.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Thailand • Minimum three years of demonstrated professional experience leading and managing LGBT projects • Experience working with local NGOs • Good knowledge of community development • Experience in implementing donor-funded projects • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage • Academic degree in relevant area •  Strong team-building and facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills • English an added advantage.
