TREAT Asia-Therapeutics, Research, Education, and AIDS Training in Asia-is a network of clinics, hospitals, research institutions and community organizations working to ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments throughout Asia and the Pacific. TREAT Asia is searching for the following to be based in Bangkok, Thailand

Project Manager, Community and Policy [for Youth project] (full-time)

Primary Function:-

The Project Manager is based in TREAT Asia’s Bangkok office and reports to the Director of TREAT Asia.  The Project Manager is responsible to plan, develop, implement, and coordinate community and policy-related program activities in support of key HIV-affected populations (e.g., adolescents, men who have sex with men) in the region. Core activities will focus on regional policy priorities outside of hepatitis C treatment and intellectual property issues. Other core responsibilities include managing communications, developing annual work plans and budgets, compiling progress reports and presentations, and resource mobilization.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:-

Program activities

  • Work with other TREAT Asia staff to track and prioritize global, regional or national HIV-related policy developments and issues.
  • Lead the development and implementation of advocacy strategies targeting key regional and global health actors, including civil society, national governments, donors, and UN agencies.
  • Research and synthesize relevant evidence for public or key stakeholder presentation and dissemination (e.g., fact sheets, issue briefs).
  • Design and develop other informational and policy materials and presentations to be used in program activities.
  • Coordinate Community and Policy program symposia and other events, including assuming responsibility for operational and logistic requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other advocates, policy makers, networks and researchers to advance sound policy positions.
  • Develop detailed annual workplans and budgets for TREAT Asia’s Community and Policy program activities.
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools to determine the effect of Community and Policy program activities to guide future program content.    
  • Conduct site visits to local and international program partners and governmental organizations, as appropriate.

 

Communications

  • Develop and foster communications and partnerships with national, regional, and international program partners in TREAT Asia countries to promote awareness of program priorities.
  • Represent TREAT Asia’s Community and Policy program at national, regional, and international meetings, conferences, and related events, as appropriate.
  • Develop communications materials with other TREAT Asia and amfAR staff for media and other outlets.
  • Work in collaboration with other TREAT Asia and amfAR staff to ensure smooth coordination of activities, promote public awareness, and enhance program visibility.

 

Resource Mobilization and Donor Accountability

  • Assist in the preparation of high-quality grant proposals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors on program activities, including the preparation of progress and financial reports.

 

Administrative and Operational

  • Supervise and evaluate assigned administrative staff.
  • Maintain electronic and paper files in the TREAT Asia office on individual events and programs, and provide program summary updates, as required.
  • Manage activities and contracts involving consultants, vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Monitor operating expenditures, maintain activities within budgetary guidelines, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

 

Provide additional TREAT Asia program support and undertake special projects as directed.

 

Qualifications:-

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.  Minimum of three years of experience working in the HIV/AIDS field, focusing on community, policy, and/or advocacy activities in the Asia-Pacific; work history with advocacy and policy programs and knowledge of regional public health and HIV/AIDS policy issues preferred. Experience with policy analysis is a plus. Social media communications and management experience helpful.

 

Excellent English communication skills encompassing written, verbal and public speaking abilities.  Fluency in Asian languages/dialects a plus.  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.  Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Regional travel is anticipated; extended work hours may be required for specific projects.

 

Benefits: Thai benefits package is available. No supplemental allowances (e.g., moving, housing) are provided. Thai work permit may be available for eligible candidates.
