 Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. With funding provided by the European Union for the project “Health and WASH services, Return preparedness and Capacity Strengthening for Refugees in the Thai –Myanmar Border Temporary Shelters”, our office located in Mae Sariang, is looking for efficient, motivated and experienced individuals for the position as Finance Officer.

 

Finance Officer

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Handle petty cash and assure daily cash flow.
  2. Prepare petty cash vouchers and supportive documents ready to be entered to accountancy software.
  3. Assure cash book vouchers are processed properly into financial project report filing system
  4. Prepare/supervise internal and external financial audits when request by the management
  5. Prepare financial reports for Malteser International and Donors according to requirements on request of the management.
  6. Support smooth implementation of financial administration and work control
  7. Analyze monthly financial reports

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Bachelor in Finance and/or Accounting or related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with accountancy and financial procedures and reporting
  3. Previous experience with tax, social security, and related issues considered an advantage
  4. Previous working experience within an NGO setting with financial responsibilities or similar
  5. Intermediate/Good level of written and spoken English.
  6. Computer Skills
  7. Ability to work under pressure

Nurse Trainer/Supervisor (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Contract Duration: 6 - 8 months

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

 

  1. Review and revise Malteser International training curriculum and methodology as required.
  2. Prepare training documents, handouts, and tools and materials.
  3. Conduct nurse training as per curriculum developed.
  4. Prepare and conduct periodical evaluation of the trainees at the end of each subject and properly record those results
  5. Prepare and conduct final examination, both theory and practical to assess the clinical skills of the trainees
  6. Prepare and submit periodical training report, indicating budget spent, training achievement and needs
  7. When there is no training, conduct regular monitoring and provide on – job training of Nurses working in the OPD and IPD
  8. Monitor the nursing procedure and technique implemented and suggest Curative Health Care Coordinator for improvement and changes.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Nurse Degree holder with previous training experience
  2. Experience of working with refugees is an asset
  3. Strong teaching, training and supervision skills
  4. Computer literacy, being able to use Word, Excel, and Power Point programs
  5. Good organizational, managerial and interpersonal skills
  6. Good command of English and Burmese, knowledge of Karen language is an asset

Psychosocial Support Supervisor (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Supervise and monitor activities of the camp based Psychosocial Support Counselors to ensure the quality care of the patients
  2. Provide trainings and refresher to new Psychosocial Support Counselors per training curriculum
  3. Provide technical support to Psychosocial Support Counselors to be able to counsel and support refugees experiencing mental health problems
  4. Supervise individual and group counseling sessions and provide support if needed
  5. Supervise basic living support program: prepare budget and supply, identify gaps for the very vulnerable patients, provide support to the Psychosocial Support Counselors
  6. Supervise the psychosocial awareness activities in the camps

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Bachelor in Nursing or related field with previous training on mental health and psychosocial support
  2. Several years’ experience in clinical nursing
  3. Psychosocial technical knowledge and proven training experience
  4. Experience of working with refugees is an asset
  5. Strong teaching, training and supervision skills
  6. Strong command of Karen (spoken and written) and fluency in English (and/or Thai or Burmese) language
  7. Computer literacy, being able to use Word, Excel, and Power Point programs
  8. Good interpersonal, communication, managerial and diplomatic skills
