Background
Asia pacific network of people living with HIV (APN+) is a network of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Asia and the Pacific. It was established in 1994 as a response to the need of having a collective voice for PLHIV in the region, to better link regional PLHIV with networks throughout the world, to support regional responses to widespread stigma and discrimination and to advocate for better access to treatment, care and support.
In response to the regional concept note titled “Key Population Research and Advocacy – KPRA, submitted to the Global Fund by four regional networks, Global fund has recommended activities described in the concept note to be funded from 2018 onwards. Four regional networks that included Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (APN+), Asian Network of People Who Used Drugs (ANPUD), Asia Pacific Network of Sex Workers (APNSW) and Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN) with Save the Children (SC) as the Primary Recipient (PR) of the grant will implement all activities in the concept note in partnership with their country network members. Key objective of APN+ under this regional multi-country grant is to improve understandings of existing community based HIV testing (CBT) services and identify best approaches to CBT in the region. APN+ program under the KPRA multi country grant will be implemented in two countries; Indonesia for Transgender population and Nepal for injecting drug use population.
Structure position and Reporting
The Program Manager is a structural position in APN+ Secretariat, which responsible for the overall project implementation including monitoring & evaluation and financial aspects of The Global Fund project implementation and report directly to the APN+ Regional Coordinator and to Save the Children International as Primary Recipient of KPRA-multi country grant.
