The Mekong Institute is seeking the services of a Consultant to lead a research study on “Development Potential of the International Shipping on the Lancang-Mekong River in China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand”. The consultancy period is 50 days from January 2015 to September 2015.
The project involves a series of activities - desk research, Inception workshop, field survey, national consultation meetings, preparation of report and its dissemination through national workshops.
Qualifications:
Advanced University degree in economics, logistics, transportation, international administration, international trade or related fields
Over five years of professional experience in designing and conducting regional researches and studies; in conducting and facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings, workshops, seminar
Facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills
Proven consultancy works related to economic development, trade and investments and regional development and cooperation, particularly in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
Demonstrated knowledge of regional development and integration frameworks like ASEAN, GMS, MRC, particularly those frameworks related to Lancang-Mekong River Development.
Excellent written reporting and communication skills in English. Previous publications in the area of international shipping are an asset.
