DAO ETHICAL GIFTS BUSINESS DEVELOPER

 

Type of Contract: Full-time position, 1-year paid volunteer contract (possibility of extension)

Location: Bangkok, Thailand (with occasional work trips to the Chiang Mai office)

Expected Start Date: ASAP

 

Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization based in Bangkok & Chiang Mai. BDF supports access to essential services for more than 1,500 vulnerable children and their families living in construction sites and slums. Through specifically tailored educational programs and flexible individual support, Baan Dek protects endangered children, enables families to become self-sustainable and provides opportunities for a better future.

Dao Ethical Gifts is one BDF’s program that aims to provide life coaching, upskilling and action planning to empower vulnerable women in need of support to gain autonomy for themselves and their families. These women are trained in sewing and are invited to create customizable and unique products, with locally sourced materials, as an alternative to traditional corporate gifts.

Some of our clients are L’Oréal, Michelin, Lazada, Michelin, Ravayadee hotels, Wonderfruits, Amadeus, Valneva.

 

Responsibilities of the advertised positions:

We are looking for a talented sales profile to expand our Dao Ethical Gifts business model. The position will work under direct supervision of the Partnerships Director and Executive Director. The main responsibilities of this role will include the following: 

Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:

  • Develop, lead and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities. It includes conducting ongoing prospection of new clients, networking with Corporate CSR Managers to build strategic relationships which uphold Dao Ethical Gifts’ mission and drafting proposals.
  • Bring new business deals to life by coordinating with the operations team internally to create “smart” timelines and execution plan;
  • Screen and prioritize business deals by analyzing the potential each client to ensure sustainable business value for Dao Ethical Gifts;
  • Define sales repeated business objective (existing clients), monitor and provide visibility into ongoing pipeline and upcoming new business by creating a sales funnel report;
  • Analyze our clients’ needs and monitor our stock in order to make recommendations in terms of product development.

Required skills:

Nationality:  Thai 

Language: Native Thai language. Fluent spoken and written English.

Qualifications:

  • Significant sales and/or fundraising experience (or relevant field).
  • Experience working with children (or for an organization that supports children) is considered an asset.
  • Strong social commitment, excellent analytical skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work and live in a multi-cultural environment. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, flexible and interested in fundraising that supports social work.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide and receive positive criticism in a sensitive manner.

Working hours:  Full time - Monday to Friday with occasional weekend + evenings

Salary: Starting at 25,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications)
