Organizational Setting and Work Relationships:
The Senior Data Management Assistant will function under the direct supervision of the Information Management Officer (IMO) and is an integral member of the Data, Identity Management and Analysis Unit (DIMA) within the Bureau.
UNHCR’s vision is that by 2025, UNHCR is a trusted leader on data and information related to refugees and other affected populations, thereby enabling actions that protect, include and empower. The DIMA will provide support and coordination to country operations within the region to facilitate registration, data and information management activities, including provision of regional statistical reporting and data analysis.
The Senior Data Management Assistant will support the work of the team in relation to information management and analysis activities. S/he will be responsible for updating regional infographics and information products, liaising with information management staff in country operations to ensure the operational data portals are up to date and support the organization and delivery of information management trainings. The Senior Data Management Assistant will also support the Assistant Statistics and Data Analysis Officer with consolidation and visualization of analysis products. The position requires excellent communication skills as they will need to work closely with colleagues in the various units within the Bureau and liaise with information management colleagues in the field.
