Photography of Food Frontliners During COVID-19

1. Background

The Dear Supermarket campaign looks to implement campaign activities that engage with the pandemic and key moments. This is to remain relevant with the mood and attention of consumers and society. The campaign takes current situations as opportunities to raise the awareness of issues in food supply chain and mobilize actions where possible.

Specifically, this storytelling photography activity aims to increase the recognition of the roles of food producers, also referred as food frontliners, during the crisis. Photographs are the tools for our campaign team to keep memory and send out key messages through storytelling. The key messages include 1) food frontliners are heroes 2) but they remain exploited, overworked and underpaid 3) therefore, we look to support these actors.

2. Services

The scope of this service is for the photographer to capture the moments and actions of the food frontliners in the food supply chain during COVID-19 outbreak, briefed prior to getting on the ground. The selected photographs will be used as key campaign materials for the Photo Caption Contest online event (on Facebook: Dear Supermarket page) and offline Photo Exhibition where they will be narrated.
