TREAT Asia-Therapeutics, Research, Education, and AIDS Training in Asia-is a network of clinics, hospitals, research institutions and community organizations working to ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments throughout Asia and the Pacific. Project Manager, Education

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 

The Project Manager is based in TREAT Asia’s Bangkok office and reports to the Director of TREAT Asia and the Director of Research who oversee all TREAT Asia research, education and training activities. The Project Manager assists them to coordinate and manage the Capacity development in HIV and MEntal health Research in Asia (CHIMERA) program, and other TREAT Asia education and research-related training projects, as assigned.

 

The Project Manager assists in the planning, development, implementation, and management of education and research-related training projects. The Project Manager will work with the Director and Director of Research, other project staff, and external collaborators in developing detailed workplans and budgets for CHIMERA and other TREAT Asia education projects, and assist with supervising and evaluating assigned projects and administrative staff.   The Project Manager will assist with reporting to donors and work with TREAT Asia and amfAR grants and financial staff to track expenditures and maintain activities within budgetary guidelines. The Project Manager will be responsible for acting as a liaison to training-related consultants and vendors. Regional travel is required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager would be responsible for activities that include, but are not limited to the following.

 

Develops and manages CHIMERA and other TREAT Asia research-related educational projects.  Assists the Director and Director of Research in organizing and facilitating TREAT Asia’s research training activities.  Maintains adherence to program objectives. 

 

  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, and associated communications with the project team and leadership, trainees, mentors, faculty, and other individuals, as appropriate.

 

  • Coordinates and facilitates meetings, site visits, onsite training workshops, webinars, and technical support and mentorship of trainees. 

 

 

  • Maintains both electronic and paper files in the TREAT Asia office on project activities, trainings, and workshops.

 

  • Serves as a moderator/facilitator for meetings, site visits, trainings, and workshops, as needed.

 

  • Promotes project activities on a regional level via appropriate venues and communications channels.

 

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates project administrative staff.

 

  • Manages and negotiates efforts of project-related consultants, vendors, and sub-contractors.

 

  • Works with other project leadership and grants management staff to ensure compliance with project grant requirements, including developing annual budgets, monitoring project spending, and development of timely and accurate donor progress and financial reports.

 

  • Works in collaboration with other TREAT Asia and amfAR staff to ensure smooth coordination of activities, promote public awareness and enhance visibility of project activities, and contribute to TREAT Asia communications materials.

 

  • Assists in the preparation of new funding proposals.

 

  • Works on other tasks and special education and training projects that may be assigned by the Director or Director of Research.

 

Qualifications:-

Minimum of three years of experience in health, education, or research fields.  Prior experience coordinating and/or facilitating capacity-development projects, trainings, and workshops is required.  Knowledge of public health issues, specifically related to HIV/AIDS and mental health, is preferred. Previous experience working with healthcare organizations, healthcare providers, non-governmental or community-based organizations, and researchers is helpful.

 

Fluency in spoken English and strong written English language skills is required; fluency in at least one Asian language is preferred. Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills are necessary.  Ability to multitask, work independently, as well as in a team, and adjust to multiple cultures and environments is required. Residence in Bangkok and regional travel are required.
