BHP Thailand (July 2019 – November 2022) is funded by the UK Government’s Prosperity Fund and aims to reduce non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in Thailand by improving access to safe, quality care using equitable, ethical and sustainable approaches. The programme will accomplish this by implementing a set of activities in the following areas: 1) Strategies to Counter NCDs; 2) Health Education and Training; and 3) Provider Performance Improvement. The Country Programme Lead will lead ensure the efficient and effective delivery of BHP Thailand.
Job Responsibilities
Provides leadership for and manages implementation of the programme in Thailand ensuring delivery of results and value for money; accountable for all programme deliverables in accordance with the contract and work plan
Manages overall engagement with the client in-country and key programme partners
Responsible for supervising and providing coordination and day-to-day management of the country team, including local and international technical experts, to achieve quality outputs and deliverables according to the implementation plan
Identifies, manages and coordinates with FHI 360 global, local and international technical resources and support
Responsible for financial management and oversight of the programme, including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting and ensures implementation is managed effectively/efficiently in line with the budget and delivery schedule
Engages with UK agencies, institutions and companies to support delivery of the programme
Provide deep country knowledge, including of political economy and country-specific challenges
Minimum Qualifications
Must have at least 8 years of experience designing, executing and managing public health programmes, or a closely related field; experience in delivering health systems reform programmes or programmes focused on the identified thematic pillars – NCDs, health education and training, provider performance improvement – is preferred
Master’s degree or its international equivalent in international development, medicine, public health, communications or related field
Experience in working in Thailand
Demonstrated ability to organise and manage tasks and people to deliver quality results on time and within budget
Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with partners and stakeholders
Experience in interacting positively with co-workers, host-country governments and counterparts and international donor agencies
Experience working with the UK Government (DFID, FCDO, DIT etc) on international projects (desirable)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational and programme management skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
Fluent in written and oral Thai
