partnerships extend from multilateral institutions to governments, private sector
and local communities. Our innovations, knowledge and initiatives enable countries
to foster good forest governance, mitigate and adapt to climate change, and
achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
RECOFTC is implementing the project “Living landscape of Nan: linking knowledge
and action with local solutions” in Nan Province funded by Wyss Academy for
Nature. The objective is to enhance ecosystem based climate resilience of
smallholders in the highland areas of Nan, through innovative finance mobilization
and business partnerships. The project will focus on field implementation in Nan. It
is expected to start in March 2022 and end in March 2023.
RECOFTC invites applications for the position of Field Coordinator, Living Landscape
of Nan Project under RECOFTC Thailand. The successful applicant will be working at
RECOFTC Thailand office in Bangkok and in Nan with a long duration of work in the
field. The contract duration is for 12 months.


Specific tasks and duties
The Field Coordinator is a member of RECOFTC Thailand and reports directly to the
Country Director, RECOFTC Thailand. The Coordinator will support the design and
implementation of the project, ensuring that expected results are effectively
delivered and within the agreed timeline. The Coordinator will manage the project
budget, facilitate events and coordinate with national partners and key
stakeholders to implement national activities.


Specific task and duties include:
Project management and coordination
▪ Support development of the project annual work plan and monthly work
plans
▪ Coordinate with project partners and RECOFTC Thailand to implement the
project strategy and work plan
▪ Arrange project schedule, division of work within the team and with project
partners to deliver the outputs on time
Coordinate with key project stakeholders at landscape and national levels to
ensure that the project receives sufficient support and understanding from
the stakeholders
▪ Develop terms of reference which includes the range of activities to be done
and budget planning and review the requests from the team members for
further approval
▪ Plan and monitor project budget spending and oversee financial control for
the Trees For All (T4A) fund disbursement
▪ Support project monitoring and evaluation, including project reporting
Technical support
▪ Design meeting, workshop and training session plans with the support of the
RECOFTC Thailand team
▪ Ensure that the baseline information, Geographic Information System (GIS),
household socio-economic and farm conditions are effectively carried out
and updated
▪ Conduct community meetings to deliver the Free, Prior and Informed
Consent (FPIC) process and seek restoration agreements with interested
community members
▪ Work with Raks Santisuk Group (RSG) to set up the financial management,
fund disbursement, and fund monitoring system
▪ Work on tree database recording for www.nanportal.org, including
supporting field monitoring for tree survival and other impacts at farm level
▪ Support nursery development and maintenance, including farm designing
and tree planting by farmers
▪ Assist other project activities and duties as needed
▪ Perform other tasks as assigned by the Country Director, RECOFTC Thailand


Qualifications and experience
The Field Coordinator will have the following essential qualifications and experience:
Essential
▪ Bachelor Degree in natural resource management, forest sciences or
equivalent
▪ At least five years of relevant work experience in community forestry,
community development and agroforestry
▪ Strong project management and community coordination skills
▪ Excellent knowledge and experience working on sustainable forest
management, Geographic Information Systems and landscape restoration
▪ Experience in facilitation of training and conducting multi-stakeholder
meetings
▪ Excellent communication and writing skills in Thai language
▪ Willingness to work and travel to field sites regularly
▪ Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management
applications: word processing, online databases, Microsoft Excel
▪ Thai national only


Desirable
▪ Self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimum supervision
Experience facilitating meetings and networking
▪ Good time management skills and able to work overtime when required
▪ Understanding and willingness to promote social inclusion and gender equity
