Program Manager Supporting Social Resilience Program (Thailand)

POSITION SUMMARY    

Location: Chiang Mai, Thailand  

The Program Manager will work under the direction of the Program leadership and in close collaboration with other program personnel to ensure that program objectives are met and follow all applicable regulations and requirements. Program Manager positions are part of the Program Division, which is separate from the Research and Policy/Advocacy Divisions. 

The Program Manager shall support key elements of the startup and implementation of the program, which will include but not be limited to the following:

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Project design and implementation: The Program Manager will participate in the design and implementation of program activities, including:  

  • Developing workplans and other documents in support of implementation
  • Identifying partners and consultants;  
  • Developing and monitoring assistance initiatives;  
  • Designing, organizing, and facilitating workshops and trainings;  
  • Monitoring and responding to programmatic risks and opportunities;  
  • Monitoring and evaluating program performance;  
  • Managing budgets;  
  • Drafting and editing quarterly and final reports, briefings  
  • Managing consultants and junior staff as needed.  

 Strategic planning and project development: The Program Manager will:  

  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the program strategy.  
  • Identify and assess key developments and trends likely to impact future 

 programmatic risks and opportunities.  

  • Draft analyses and concept papers as requested .  

 

Networking and relationship management: The Program Manager will:  

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with consortium partners .  
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with local organizations, partners, beneficiaries, and other key stakeholders .  
  • Represent the program to external audiences at meetings and events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience :     

  • Fluency in Burmese, Thai, and English.  
  • At least three to five years of relevant experience of increasing seniority working in the emergency assistance support field with relevant actors in Myanmar.   
  • Prior experience working with Thai institutions engaged with Myanmar and Myanmar CSOs.  
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Myanmar politics, history, culture .    
  • Able to work with both leaders, peers, and subordinates in an effective and polite manner.  
  • Able to work effectively with external stakeholders.  
  • Thai nationals with full fluency in Burmese language including ethnic Burmese dialects preferred  
  • Experience living and working in Myanmar preferred  

Technical Skills and Abilities :  

  • Experience working with excel and other databases.  
  • Detail oriented and able to successfully organize work flows .   
  • Effective analytical skills and a proven problem solver.  
  • Strong logistics and administrative skills and qualifications.  
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and exhibit unquestionable integrity, honesty, and forthrightness.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond promptly to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.    
  • Ability to successfully work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, external partners, and funders.

WORKING CONDITIONS:      

General Working Conditions:     

  • General working office environment or telework .    
  • May require long hours including evenings and weekends to complete tasks.
