The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.

Job Overview/Summary

As a Senior IT Officer will compete a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IRC IT systems, including systems installation, maintained Information Systems Security network, upkeep support technical consultations to end-user & training, and provision of day-to-day IT support to staff.  This position requires a strong technical skillset, excellent problem-solving abilities, great communication skills and the ability to travel within the country.

This position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand, and reports to the Senior IT Manager.

Primary Duties & Major Responsibilities:

User Support & System Administrator

  • Provide high-level technical support to IRC Thailand staff with day-to-day problems they may encounter while using the IT systems.
  • Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration and IT infrastructure including internet access, firewall/router, network devices, printers, backup systems and other IT-related support tasks.
  • Monitors IT infrastructure and applications for service interruptions, security incidents, escalates and notifies IT Helpdesk team as needed to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with IT HQ and local colleagues such as, Endpoint, Network Engineer, and Infrastructure teams to resolve problems and implement solutions.

Laptop Computer Management

  • Perform setup new computers with the IRC approved software image and ensure that all IRC specific applications are installed and correctly configured.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of software and hardware peripherals.
  • Maintain up to date inventory of IRC laptops in ServiceNow.

Security Compliance

  • Monitor data security compliance and ensure IT procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring internal compliance (including IT, vulnerability scans and, etc.) are executed in a timely manner.

IT Management and Maintenance

  • Maintain accurate documentation for system installations, configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Perform failure analysis and determine corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with program teams to understand their IT requirements and implement solutions that fit into the mission of the program and IRC.
  • Cooperation with support vendor might be required when solving technical issues or implementing.
  • Advise on procurement, upkeep of IT products, and oversee hardware and software license renewals.

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal:  Liaise with Thailand IT & RSC Asia IT, IT HQ (Endpoint, and Network Engineer) and Supply Chains teams.
External:  Work with External Vendors.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or other related field (or equivalent experience). 

Work Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in computer systems administration, network operations, information systems security, or information technology management, is required.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience working with cloud computing virtualization platforms, Microsoft Cloud computing, Microsoft Windows based servers, Active Directory, File and Print server, and CCTV is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise imaging and updating tools.

Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of TCP/ IP, LAN/WAN networks, Firewall, WiFi, Windows 10/11 Professional, O365, MS-Teams, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in Windows 2016/20019 servers, Azure Cloud, VPN, VMWare, Cisco products, Veeam Backup software and Cloud-Telepresence System.
  • Knowledge of system security techniques.
  • A sound knowledge of standard business work processes, management principles and fault-finding techniques.

Language Skills:   Proficient in English written and verbal communications skills are required. 

Certificates or Licenses:  At least one IT certification, ITSM, MCDST, MCTS, MCP, MCSE or other certifications (such as ITIL V4, A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or Azure Administrator Associate) highly preferred.

Working Environment:

The position is based in Bangkok in an urban office environment. The position may require domestic travel to support IRC within Thailand, as necessary, is a requirement.
