Winrock International (Winrock) is a non-profit organization that works around the world to increase economic opportunity, sustain natural resources, and protect the environment. The USDA Thailand Regional Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN) is a five-year project, implementing by Winrock International, starting from 2022 to 2027 aims to promote production, trade and increase climate resilient in six agricultural value chain crops in Thailand namely: rice, cassava, coconut, durian, mangosteen, and longan. The project will be identifying climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies and will select and promote up to 30 technologies and services in the value chains focusing in 11 provinces in Thailand (Chaiyaphum, Chanthaburi, Chumphon, Chaing Rai, Chaing Mai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Lampoon, Ratchaburi and Samut Songkram). Project can provide support on conducting studies, grant for developer, capacity building program as well as financial mechanism to promote the adoption.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

RAIN is seeking a professional with experience in business development, coordination with financial institutions, facilitating financial support to producers or value chain actors in accessing technologies. The goal for this role is to lead technology adoption through financial support and scaling it up into a functioning business for existing actors in the value chain. The responsibility will be to provide expertise in business development, value chain finance to the Technical Team in developing business model of selected technologies and services.

 

This position opens for Thai Nationals only.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide business development and related expertise to support all technical activities (identification, validation, piloting, scaling, and knowledge sharing) by studying needs value chain (actors and activities) for the assigned crops, identify potential business model for technology solutions, seeking external collaboration if needed to ensure that USDA fund helps promote climate resilience, productivity as well as economic through technologies and business model relevant to the targeted beneficiaries and areas.  
  2. Lead business development of responsible technologies. This includes coordinating market survey and market analysis with internal or external resources if needed, negotiation and coordination with tech firms, developers, service providers, financial institution, partners etc. to come up with business model to pilot and scale up the adoption.
  3. Project coordination includes day-to-day multi-stakeholders’ coordination, strategic plan, identifying resource need, piloting, seeking business partners, Develop network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, support project with insightful information.
  4. Oversee the validation/testing/piloting process for responsible innovations in coordination with partners. Ensuring timely, high-quality implementation and reporting.
  5. Support Technical Team and other activities of the project as see the technical background and experience is appropriate.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of business administration, finance, market analysis, agribusiness development. An undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing or any other relevant with proven related experience
  • At least five-year experience in value chain finance development or coordination, business administration, or related project management. A proven completion of project cycle would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial products, financial support policies and implications is required. Experience in finance for the agriculture sector would be an advantage.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Professional coordination and can represent the organization.
  • Fluency in English in professional expression, reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Working level of computer and internet literacy (MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Canva, social media etc.)
  • Ability to travel to up-country and sometimes to countries in the region.
