Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a professional and dedicated Program Manager who will commit to contributing to the overall goals of Baan Dek Foundation in Bangkok.
The employee will work under direct supervision of the Director of Programs in Chiang Mai and the Executive Director in Bangkok.
|
Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:
PROGRAM COORDINATION AND SUPERVISION
- Supervise and support BDF’s social workers in the coordination and the implementation of the field activities;
- Together with Management, Impact Advisors, and social workers, create and develop appropriate tools to address the needs of the communities, ensuring – at all times – that all projects are conducted in accordance with BDF’s Child Protection Policy, ethical standards, and best practices; and
- Contribute within the Management Team to the general strategy and vision of BDF.
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
- Support the Management Team in the design, implementation, evaluation and achievement of our projects’ objectives;
- Together with social workers, conduct outreach in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area in order to implement BDF’s ‘Chiang Mai Framework for Action’ in construction site camps with high populations of children;
- Engage the team in high-quality social work to support beneficiaries and to develop sustainable situations;
- Support in developing and overseeing the overall monitoring system for BDF activities, from data collection to reporting results;
- Organize meetings with construction companies and local partners; and
- Support the development of guidelines and tools to contribute to the spread of good practices.
SOCIAL WORK
The Program Manager with supervise and work together with social workers to:
- Coordinate activities and provide of technical support where needed;
- Ensure the local team is sufficiently trained in case management;
- Coordinate with education & health services/organizations to identify the most suitable services and solutions available;
- Take the responsibility of the Child Protection Officer;
- Identify beneficiaries in need through regular outreach and assess their needs; and
- Together with social workers, ensure regular and effective follow-up by providing beneficiaries with psychological/emotional support, healthcare support, business/legal counselling, help to design a family/professional plan, etc.
REPORTING
- Ensure reporting and follow-up of actions held with beneficiaries;
- Review and track weekly reports from social workers under their direct supervision;
- Report weekly to Senior Management; and
- Support drafting of activity reports to partners.
HR AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Under the supervision of the Director of HR and Public Relations:
- Support for recruitment, preparation of staff contracts and staff evaluations as required;
- Promote a constructive and productive working environment among the staff;
- Actively support information sharing, transparency and dialogue among the staff and with beneficiaries of all projects; and
- Together with the Management create and develop the proper trainings for the BDF team and beneficiaries in accordance with BDF’s Child Protection Policy, ethical standards, and best practices.
STRATEGY AND PARTNERSHIPS
Under the supervision of the Director of Partnerships:
- Support fundraising led by the Director of Partnerships when requested;
- Facilitate and support Partnerships Officers in the coordination and implementation of all development and fundraising activities/events;
- Represent BDF upon request by welcoming and presenting BDF’s programs and activities to visiting partners & sponsors;
- Support in communicating and promoting BDF’s activities; and
- Support the creation and implementation of advocacy initiatives within the construction sector/external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
|
Nationality: Thai Nationals
Language: Native Thai, fluent spoken and written English (knowledge of Thai-Yai, Burmese or Khmer considered an asset).
Education: Degree or equivalent in a relevant field required (project management/social work/social development/political science/international development/ etc.)
Experience:
- Experience in project management and leadership position
- Experience as a social worker or experience related to development or social work
- Experience as a project coordinator or research coordinator considered an asset
- Experience in interviewing, counselling, and case management considered an asset
- Experience with non-profit organizations or in the humanitarian sector will also be strongly considered
Other skills/interests:
- Confirmed leadership and management skills

Working hours: Full time (40 hours) - Monday to Friday (flexible schedule) and occasionally on weekend & evenings
Salary: Starting at 30,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications). Staff benefits include transportation and phone allowance, etc.
