Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

 

  1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

 

Under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Executive Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Office of Chief of Mission, particularly in driving and messenger services.

 

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

 

       Particularly, he/she will carry out the following duties:

 

  1. Drive office vehicle for transport of authorized personnel and for delivery/collection of mail, documents and other items.

 

  1. Ensure that assigned vehicle(s) are well maintained and kept in good conditions at all times.

 

  1. Perform daily maintenance of assigned vehicle(s) including checking motor oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.

 

  1. Perform minor repair and arrange for other repair whenever necessary.

 

  1. Keep a log of all trips, daily mileage, gas consumption and other relevant information; submit report to supervisor on a regular basis.

 

  1. Ensure that steps required by rules and regulations are taken care in case of involvement in an accident.

 

  1. Assist Senior Executive Assistant in administrative related tasks.

 

  1. Perform messenger services as required.

 

  1. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

  1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Possess a driving license for private vehicles
  • At least two years driving experience
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations; skills in minor vehicle repair
  • Familiarity of the Bangkok locality
  • Punctual, honest, good judgement and hardworking
  1. LANGUAGES

 

English (Fairly) and Thai (Fluent)

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighboring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighboring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
