ADRA Thailand is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager based in Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai, Thailand for the Statelessness Reduction and Community Sensitization Project (CSP).

Job overview: The Project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of the CSP project in Mae Chan, Mae Sai and Mae Fa Luang, overseeing the project staff, managing the budget, and maintaining relationships with local partners and Thai authorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the project ensuring proper supervision of staff and delivery of high-quality project implementations

  • Ensure transparent and correct project related financial transactions and recording

  • Ensure transparent and adequate communication and coordination with Program Department

  • Lead in the coordination with stakeholders including government officials

  • Oversee project implementation in order to achieve stated results

  • Represent ADRA in all relevant coordination meetings in all the project target areas

  • Develop a detailed implementation plan with the project team ensuring that implementation is in accord with the plan, regularly updating it along with the log-frame as required;

  • Draft and prepare project progress reports and other information as may be required.

  • Participate in proposal development by facilitating assessments and provision of information as may be required;

  • Prepare monthly budget request, review project budget forecasts ensure expenditure within the approved budget;

  • Review monthly expense reports from the Project Cashier/Admin Assistant before sending to head office;

  • Coordinate and participate in field visits by ADRA Thailand senior management staff, project partners, donors and others as required;

  • Escalate issues requiring immediate solutions for smooth activity implementation to program management;

  • To perform other tasks as required by the Program Director

Preferred candidates are expected to meet the following:

Minimum Skills & Education Required:

 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master’s degree in Public Administration, Community Development or related field.

 Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-year experience in community development or in management positions that is equal to the stated responsibilities outlined above

  • Concrete knowledge of issues pertaining to statelessness

  • Prior work experiences in assisting stateless persons to obtain their legal status

Language Skills:

  • Thai as native language

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

  • Able to write reports in English

Skills and Abilities:

  • Significant experience in working with hill tribe communities

  • Capacity and experiences to facilitate high quality trainings

  • Strong team spirit and experience in being a team leader (preferably at least 3 years)

  • Ability to work under pressure and able to multi-task

  • Ability to interact in a sensitive and diplomatic way

  • Ability to speak in public with confidence

  • Strong sense of responsibility

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel

  • High level of flexibility and self-motivation

  • Strong cross cultural and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of diversity in working environment

  • Valid driving license
