TREAT Asia-Therapeutics, Research, Education, and AIDS Training in Asia-is a network of clinics, hospitals, research institutions and community organizations working to ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments throughout Asia and the Pacific. Project Coordinator

 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Project Coordinator is based in TREAT Asia’s Bangkok office and reports to the Director of Research.

 

The Project Coordinator assists in organizing TREAT Asia’s HIV research, education and training activities, and supporting communications efforts to promote work in these areas.  This includes an emphasis on coordination of research projects, related trainings or meetings, as well as developing and supporting communications to complement research activities of the TREAT Asia Network.  S/he will coordinate logistical and administrative aspects of related projects, events, trainings, and meetings.  This will include working with other program and administrative staff from research, education, and community and policy.

 

Other core responsibilities include supporting the development of project workplans and budgets, and working with other TREAT Asia staff to compile progress reports and presentations.  Occasional regional travel is required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Director of Research and Project Managers in developing, implementing, and monitoring TREAT Asia’s research activities.
  • Supports project-related activities, including site visits, trainings and meetings (e.g., speaker and travel coordination), and consultant/vendor management. 
  • Organizes project-related communications, including scheduling, facilitating, and documenting conference calls and meetings. 
  • Supports the design, development or review of research related materials and documents, including protocols, manuals of operation, presentations, and data collection tools.
  • Assists with developing detailed project workplans and budgets, and helps with compiling project progress and other reports and presentations.
  • Assists with developing approaches and tools to evaluate the effect of project activities, including collection, compilation and analysis of feedback from participants.  Supports project adjustments based on evaluations.
  • Supports coordination and tracking of research partner compliance with regulatory and/or protocol-specific procedures, e.g., IRB reviews, regulations governing the conduct of research and quality assurance procedures.
  • Supports coordination and tracking of research concept, manuscript and abstract development, submission and publication,
  • Leads or supports the promotion of research program or project activities on a regional level via appropriate venues and communications channels.
  • Assists with developing communications approaches, materials, and tools for use by the research program.
  • Maintains both electronic and paper files in the TREAT Asia office on research activities and events.
  • Provides guidance to TREAT Asia administrative staff on routine research program tasks, as needed.
  • Works with other program staff on special activities, as requested.
  • Performs other job-related duties that may be assigned by the Director or Director of Research.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.  Minimum of three years experience in organizing/supporting HIV/AIDS-related program activities in Asia; work history with research, education and/or project management preferred.  Knowledge of public health and HIV/AIDS policy issues a plus. 

 

Strong written and spoken English language skills.  Fluency in Thai; additional languages/dialects represented in the TREAT Asia Network a plus.  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.  Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Note: Residence in Bangkok is required; no work permit is available in association with this position.
