Contract Dates: May 18th - June 14th

Salary: 40,000 Baht for the program, plus travel expenses.

Successful OPCs for Thailand Experiences will ensure a safe and academically enriching program for students and faculty as measured by final evaluations, by supporting students academic and personal growth. 

Will ensure that the program runs as close to schedule and budget as possible in concert with Thailand Experiences Director.

 

Job Description & Offer

This position is a temporary contract position. The primary role of this position is to facilitate the in-­country implementation of the assigned customized program and provide safety/emergency support as needed. During the program, the On­-Site Program Coordinator is responsible for helping to manage the day ­to ­day logistics of the assigned customized program and providing in­-country support to both the leading faculty and students as well as local staff.

Using personal travel experience, language and cultural knowledge, the On­-Site Program Coordinator will help create a program environment that is safe and supports students academic and personal growth..

This position is contracted for the duration of the program from May 18th - June 14th and will also involve some pre-program training and preparation

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Communication

  • Coordinate with faculty leader on itinerary, expectations, and university policies
  • Communicate the day to day plans with the group through their preferred method
  • Program check-ins/debriefs with faculty leaders (i.e. program pace, challenging students, re-confirming things are going well)
  • Act as cultural liaison
  • Assist with end-of-program evaluation of the program participants experiences
  • Create a positive and flexible environment throughout the program

 

Logistical

  • Travel with group to all scheduled destinations and events
  • Facilitate all logistical aspects of the program including transportation, planned excursions and tours, group meals, and accommodations. ( this is planned by and booked by TE staff ahead of time)
  • Airport transfers - meet students at the airport upon arrival and arrange their transportation to accommodation; arrange transportation back to the airport upon completion of the program.
  • Transportation and Accommodations - verify each accommodation and transportation reservation 24 hours in advance; check group into each accommodation and accompany group on transportation
  • Excursions: manage day to day arrangements, ensuring groups arrive in a timely manner, re-confirming visits are set as planned in advance, tickets are for the correct date, etc.
  • Manage group on­site funds, payments and receipts
  • Troubleshoot arrangements when they don’t go to plan, with support of the home office (i.e. strikes/protests, unexpected closures, poor accommodations, etc)

 

Health & Safety | Emergency Support

  • Coordinate and lead an on-site health and safety orientation program on the first day of the program.
  • Provide 24/7 full program support
  • Serve in an on-call capacity, facilitating emergency protocol if necessary
  • Assist students with personal needs onsite, such as accompanying them to a doctor’s visit, etc.
  • Assist students with practical matters relating to adjustment, acting always in the best interest of the students and the Company
  • Keep in close contact with the office regarding all student and/or faculty issues – submit reports in accordance with reporting requirements

 

Other

  • Take photos regularly throughout the program (10 per day minimum)
  • Collect student and faculty testimonials

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent spoken English and Thai
  • Organized, professional, energetic, flexible, independent, creative
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to solve problems & manage participants in a mature manner
  • Flexibility - Must be very flexible and have a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Attentive, detail-oriented, and a sense of humour.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Work-related experience with Western students, in cross-cultural education, higher education and/or customer service.
  • Good organization and group management skills.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers, students, people, and/or events in Thailand.
  • International travel/work/living experience.

 

Education

Applicants with Bachelor's degrees preferred, but not essential. Preference will be given to applicants who show an ability to think critically and communicate effectively.
