Terms of Reference

Position title:                    HROD Specialist

Directly reports to:          Head of P&C

Dotted line reporting:      CEO

Location:                           Bangkok, Thailand

Duration:                          1 year (possibility of extension based on funding availability)

Background:

WWF International’s leadership has committed to build strong country offices so that impact on the ground can be achieved. As part of building strong country offices, HR organizational development (HROD) is a crucial step to ensuring that this objective is met. At WWF Thailand, OD is essential to prepare the organization for expected growth in its funding and programs. This growth period will require enhancing leadership at the manager level, adding skills of staff as and instilling new ways of working according to the organization’s core values and goals. WWF Thailand is seeking for a human resource organization development or HROD professional who has experience in implementation and monitoring of people development projects in corporate settings, international organizations or other relevant sectors.

Major Function

The HROD Specialist will manage and will be responsible for the implementation, and monitoring of the HROD workplan with a priority on developing high quality, innovative programmes and building capacity within teams through professional development and continuous learning of team members, particularly executives and emerging leaders.  

In addition, the HROD Specialist is responsible for developing and executing OD Strategies that align with business Goals and enhance organizational agility, leading change management initiatives to support business transformation and culture enhancement.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities  

Organizational Strategy & Development (50%)

  •   Act as Organization Development Focal point within the office and broader Network
  •   Provide advice and updates to the Country Management Team on Organization Development related issues
  •   Oversee all executive coaching activity within WWF, maintain a network of both internal and external coaches and facilitate the matching of coaches to executives, as needed. 
  •   Implement and coordinate activities and processes according to the OD workplan.
  •   Manage the OD budget.

Program Strengthening (40%)

  •   Manage and support the assessment of programme team development needs and design, implementation and evaluate programme development strategies that facilitates the building of strong teams through the professional development and continuous learning of team members, with a focus on strengthening management skills and identifying and supporting emerging leaders.
  •   Improve and optimize performance management frameworks to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  •  Conduct organizational assessments and surveys to measure engagement and workplace effectiveness and develop initiatives to enhance employee experience and reinforce company values.
  •   Work closely with P&C & M&E team to identify talent issues before they impact the delivery of conservation by facilitating talent planning and supporting the crafting of individual development plans for strategically critical talent.  Identify potential career paths, which would expedite executive development and build talent pools across the programmes.
  •   Design training and capability – building programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.

 Other (10%)

  • Leverage HR analytics to assess organizational effectiveness and provide insights for decision – making.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve OD initiatives.
  • Support CMT on specific activities related to capacity building and team development.
  • Other tasks as assigned cy CMT.

 

Requirements

General Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong people management, coaching, mentoring and capacity building/development
  • Superior interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills
  • Has strong organisational & planning ability
  • Significant experience in strategy deployment
  • Knowledge & skill of relevant OD systems, processes & principles is expected
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai languages
  • Advance computer literacy
  • Respective Competencies: WWF Focus; External Orientation; Delivery quality outcomes; Building working relationships; communicate effectively; Leading teams; Leading change; Managing Resources

 

Education and Work Experience

  • Master’s in administration, Human Resource Management, Organisational Development
  • Relevant work experience more than 7 years in the similar field
  • At least three years of experience in a senior management role of a INGO is preferred
  • Track record in delivering successful OD projects and supporting major organisational change; influencing, building and sustaining relationships in order to achieve results.
  • Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of theory and good practice in key areas:
  • Organisation development particularly around change management and developing organisational culture
  • Learning & Development, particularly management development and talent management.

 

Working Relationships

Internal Part of the P&C team with dotted line to CEO, work closely with M&E, Conservation Programme Teams, Conservation Support Teams, Country Management Team, Project Managers,

External  Interact with P&C colleagues in other WWF offices in the Asia Pacific region as well as  the International Secretariat.
