Vacancy Announcement

 

The Coordinating Committee for Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand (CCSDPT) coordinates humanitarian assistance for displaced persons living in temporary shelters along the Thai-Myanmar border, working closely with non-governmental organizations, refugee committees, and Royal Thai Government (RTG) authorities.

The project focuses on maintaining functional coordination mechanisms, timely health information flow, and alignment with national disease surveillance systems, while adapting to the evolving operational environment.

To support these activities, CCSDPT is seeking a Health Sector Support Assistant for the CCSDPT Health Sector Support for refugee temporary shelters along the Thailand-Myanmar border Program to assist with coordination, health data management, field monitoring, and logistical support, working closely with health authorities, camp committees, and partner organizations across all nine shelters.

 

Duty Station:            Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province, Thailand

Work locations:       Mae Hong Son, Tak, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi Provinces in Thailand.

Duration:                   30th September 2026 (with possibilities to extend)

Salary range:            20,000 THB ( benefits)

 

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Provide support to the Health Sector Support Coordinator in the implementation of the project activities in target locations, in collaboration with relevant RTG health authorities and camp committees in the respective shelters.
  2. Provide supervision and support to the camp-based assistants across the nine shelters to ensure high-quality and timely compilation and submission of monthly and weekly health reports and observations to relevant stakeholders.
  3. Work closely with health authorities, camp committees, and CBA to ensure regular sharing of OAF data from all nine shelters.
  4. Carry out field visits to monitor data collection, community feedback and ensure the active implementation of the project activities in all 9 shelters.
  5. Assist the Health Sector Support Coordinator in organizing regular HSC and coordination meetings with RTG health authorities, including agenda and minutes preparation, necessary logistical arrangements, and translation between English, Karen, and Thai, as required.
  6. Assist the Health Sector Support Coordinator in conducting training sessions and ad hoc coordination meetings with stakeholders, including translation between English, Karen, and Thai, as required.
  7. Enter or import monthly data into the main database and perform data retrieval as required.
  8. Assist the Health Sector Support Coordinator in the design and implementation of health service gap assessments and in collecting data using Kobo or other data collection applications, as needed.
  9. Assist the Health Sector Support Coordinator in the design, development, and implementation of a feasible, simple, and inclusive community feedback mechanism across 9 refugee shelters
  10. Assist the Health Sector Support Coordinator in reviewing and entry survey data into KOBO Toolbox.
  11. Coordinate with relevant RTG authorities, CCSDPT, and camp committees in applying for camp passes
  12. Arrange logistics for field visits to the camps and meeting locations, as required.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. University degree in field like Social Science or equivalent discipline is an advantage but not required.
  2. Previous experience in working closely with local RTG authorities, including hospitals, DPHO, MOI, and camp committees as well, is considered an advantage.
  3. Experience working with (I)NGO, NGOs, or CBOs, and experience working in Shelters along the Thai – Myanmar border. 
  4. Fluent in Thai and Sgaw Karen (writing, reading, and speaking).
  5. Communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Proficient in MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet-based applications.
  8. Basic knowledge and skills in data collection, analysis, and data visualization software, such as Kobo, Power BI, and SQL Server.
  9. Flexible, able to set priorities, and willing to travel and stay overnight in remote locations as needed.
