Senior Technical Specialist (Better Health Programme)



PROJECT SUMMARY:
 

The Better Health Programme (BHP) Thailand is a 3.5-year programme funded by the UK Government’s Prosperity Fund and aims to reduce non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in Thailand by improving access to safe, quality care using equitable, ethical and sustainable approaches. The programme will accomplish this through the implementation of a set of activities in the following areas: 1) Strategies to Counter NCDs; 2) Health Education and Training; and 3) Provider Performance Improvement. Under the direction of the Country Technical Lead (CTL), the Senior Technical Specialist will play a key role in planning, coordinating programme activities to ensure effective delivery of the BHP Programme in Thailand. We are looking for Senior Technical Specialist to oversee the programme management. This position is contingent upon funder approval.


 

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Provides support to programme management such as troubleshooting, updating work plans, coordinating travel arrangement and monitoring program activities;
  2. Coordinates engagements with government and other stakeholders, including making necessary logistical and programmatic preparations and documenting engagement outcomes;
  3. Works with CTL and assists with developing budgets, coordinating consultants, programme materials and information;
  4. Collects, compiles and analyzes information relevant to the programme;
  5. Supports the CTL administratively and technically to produce high quality reports and other programme documents for submission to clients; and
  6. Conduct ad-hoc analyses and summary reports and document lessons learned.

MINIMIUM REQUIREMENTS:
 

  1. Must have at least eight years of relevant experience in the health sector in Thailand;
  2. Master’s degree or its international equivalent in international development, medicine public health, communications or related field;
  3. Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency or private organization;
  4. Experience working with government agency is preferable.
  5. Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others;
  6. Strong organizational and programme management skills;
  7. Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality programme reports and other programme-related materials;
  8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; and
  9. Fluent in written and oral Thai.
