Raks Thai Foundation, a member of CARE International, that has been working in Thailand since 1979 in the area of emergency relief, community natural resources management, micro enterprise promotion, education, health and HIV/AIDS prevention and care for affected families has a vacancy for:

 

 

Program Officer-PWID (Based in Bangkok)

 

The PO is a key person in the Program Quality Department responsible for the development and strengthening of Raks Thai's programs with an emphasis on the harm reduction for the people living with the injecting drug users and coordinating with project partners in achieving project goals and objectives. Develops large scale proposals for new funding opportunities. Designs monitoring and evaluation systems and engage in the overall programmatic and financial monitoring and reporting.  Initiates and maintains relationships with key program partners, public and private agencies, as well as local and international donors.

 

Project Summary

Under the new funding model of the STAR project as funded by the Global Fund, the PR Raks Thai Foundation will focus working several key affected populations and reducing new infection of HIV and TB by sustaining intensive behavior change programs, appropriate use of prophylaxis and the strategic use of anti-retro-viral drugs among the key populations particularly MSM, TG, PWID, SW, MSW and other vulnerable populations (migrants and prisoners).

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in political science, business management, economics or related areas.
  • Minimum of three to five year working experiences in project design, monitoring and evaluation, and budgeting.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English and Thai, and computer literacy (especially in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and effective communication skills combined with problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated strengths in planning and organizational skills with the ability to think and act strategically in the design and execution of programs, and conceptualize complex issues, and strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work and travel independently.
  • Wide interest in social issues especially of disadvantaged groups and human rights.
